Chip thanks for the replies and input. I didn't realise that the PH2 was that much different to a PH1.
Thanks again, best to know now than a bit further down the line.
Chip I was under the impression that just disconnecting the FBW side of it would be fine. I am guessing that the ECU needs the signal from the FBW part of throttle to adjust fueling?
Matt you don't have to have an aftermarket ECU. Russ has proved it by his working. A throttle cable and pedal is not going to break the bank either unless you are buying a gold one??
Russ thanks for the above.
Matt is a friend and I will probably end up doing most of the work should he decide to go ahead. The ITB's he got for a very good price. The rest I am quite comfortable with what you did on yours, just a bit more clarity and a few extra pictures would be good. If I PM...
Gents didn't Russ-16v do this on a std ecu and ended up with 209bhp. ECU was remapped by Paul at RStuning. Other than converting to a PH1 throttle pedal I don't see what is any different.
Hi all
I have searched for the this but had no joy.
My wife has to sell her 172 due to a baby on the way, a larger car is needed. We are putting the standard stereo back in to replace the Alpine cda 9835R that was in there. Once I had found all the wires(4 blocks, 2 large, 2 small) these were...
Hi guys
I am looking to get a secong set of wheels for my fiancee's 172 and putting some winter/snow tyres on as she is not confident in driving in the snow/ice and it seems the way to go.
What wheels from other clio's will fit the 172, either steelies or alloy.
Thanks in advance.
Google "klack n go". These are a very good snow chain. Come in all types for a variety of conditions. Their snow sock seems very interesting and will not damage your wheels.
My 172 exhaust is blowing at the join where the pipe goes into the backbox and so i need a new exhaust, I don't want to spend on a new renault system that won't last, I want to keep it discreet, hence stealth, can you advise the best stealth exhaust that is quiet/liveable as a daily driver.
I...
My 172 mk2 phase 1 has a problem with the electric window, the plastic clip that the cable runs on has snapped causing the wire to be loose and thus the window does not work.
What do you need to buy to fix it? Do you need to buy the whole window mechanism?
Nicola
I did wonder that but I don't think it would drop that much. Don't remember it doing it last year.
True that weather can affect it though. Remember when I had the TVR it would do 240 miles to £67 and when winter came on the same daily drive it dropped to around 120miles! Then went back up come...
Hi Guys
Have been looking around on here for a while now. My fiance has a PH1 172 sport. Mods are air filter and lowered. Car has was running fine for over a year with no problems at all. Recently it is running a little rough and is returning poor mpg(29) according to the comp. Normally it's...
