It was mentioned that a 60-2 trigger setup in the software would work with the 182 flywheel trigger. I tried this with my ecu (haltech) and it wont pick it up. Are you guys setting up the OMEX to read a 60-2 trigger?
Does anyone know how the cam phase shifter on the 182 works? I know its a on/off only and not variable, but at what rpm is it activated? and when is it off?
Also, what trigger pattern does the 182 use? is it a motronic 60-2 signal?
Also, can we cancel the variable cam gear on the 182 and...
This might not be directly gearbox related, but it did lead to gearbox failure. On my 182 i noticed after about 3000miles that the clutch pedal was getting "sticky" meaning when releasing the clutch nothing, nothing, nothing then all of a sudden it grabs. Over time this became more evident and...
Just installed a set of cams from K-Tec and redid the timing without any of the locking tools. My mechanic is saying he eyeballed it as best as possible since we didnt have a the locking tool. Drove the car and its all fine but i cant feel a power increase. Is this due to the camshaft not...
Tom, Dan, I am about to change the clutch and flywheel on my 182.. It seems taking the box out the top is easier.. can you describe what are the major steps to be done?
I have the K-Tec remap on my 182 and its the best mod i have done to the car. No complaints what so ever and the car is a blast to drive. The extra revs come in very handy during fast twisty roads.
Dan R, the reason i am asking is that i have been told that camber bolts are not strong and could break, i am not an expert so advice from this forum would be good.
I have the K-Tec Group N remap on my 182 and i am very very happy with it.. Other mods to the car are a K-Tec decat and a ITG replacement air filter.. Also the acoustic valve is removed. The car behaves as normal, no cold start or idle issues etc.. It pulls much better through the rev range...
Hi all, i took a look under my 182 yesterday and realized that changing the clutch is going to be a big job. Has anyone attempted it on their own?? Maybe a write up on how its done??
Also, does anyone know where i could get a workshop manual for the 182??
When i installed my decat it came with two new bolts... i decided not to install them and keep the origional bolts with the springs as they seemed to do a better job. A friend of mine who has a decat to had fitted the bolts that came with the decat and is experiancing exhaust leek issues.
Bought a set of these recently for my 182 as track day wheels and they are very light as advertised. But they did not come with the required spigot rings (http://www.ultralitewheels.com/Accessories.html see bottom of the page). Since i had a track day coming up instead of waiting for them to...
The 197 has many different components... The block is the Turbo block with the wide bolt pattern bellhousing... The Crank (I think) is different... The Cams are different... The ECU mapping is basically the same as the group N 182 ecu..
K-Tec decat, ITG panel filter, Remap, delete acoustic valve.... Sounds great, but what really shocked me is that during track day, i removed the rear seats.. the sound that you hear now is AWESOME.... you guys should try it :P
I have an ITG replacment filter, K-Tec de-cat, and the K-Tec reflash. I must say that these mods together are day and night difference from stock. Thanks K-Tec!@!!!!
The 197 is much slower on the road than the 182, side to side road tests have proven this over and over. The 197 does have better feel and handling though, this was seen at the track where the 197 posted very close times to the 182... The next test was to see what a lightened 197 would do and...
Mike, What you describe usually occurs if the rear wheels are not rotating as fast or close to the front wheels.
It could also result from ABS speed sensors on the rear wheels not working properly. Have you changed your rear discs?? If so, you need to check the wheel speed sensor.
As a...
Many thanks on the response BenR... quality technical posts are what makes this forum great.
Still have to find a solution for the use-once-per-track-day syncros
My My, i leave you guys for a few days and you turn my thread into useless banter :P Shame on you all. And here i was trying to get useful technical info.
I asked the question about a 6-speed 182 cuz the 197 has a 6-speed. Given that i reasoned that the 197 uses the same F4R block as the 182...
