I've had a read of every torsion bar thread I could find and know how to do it etc.
What I couldn't find is info on how (if at all) the spring rate changes when you lower the car. As you have effectively shortened the suspension travel, is it subsequently stiffer to prevent bottom out?
Fantastic...i'll have to start scouring german ebay then.
Going for a 106 Rallye-esque style a la;
Don't want anything too 'flashy'...just subtle mods that suit the car well.
- White Mattig SSFs
- Spot of lowering
- French plates
Looking at getting some for my Mk1 but I've noticed the offset is 25. Would I need any spacers on my RT Champs Elysees? Also, would the 13x6s fit under standard arches?
Many thanks, Tom
Hi there, I've got a '95 RT Champs Elysees and it has a couple of niggles.
1. The rear passenger side door locking post is 'sticky' in that it doesn't always operate correctly with the central locking. When it does work there's a squeak from the middle of the door. Also, it makes a brrrr noise...
