Re: Cambelt c**kup
After I brought the motor i found out that it should of had a cambelt done at 5 years, so they agreed to do it for me, as it was a big concern of mine.
Re: Cambelt c**kup
Are you saying that the valves cant be damaged while hand cranking an engine, because i'm getting fired up to make a phone call to the mechanic.
Cheers Roy
Just curious on this special Locking tool from renault that Fred talks about, can the job be done without this tool and if so, is my engine in any harm.
cheers for that.
they tell me that it got damaged when they were hand cranking the engine, and that the car runs but sounds lumpy when idling.
sorry for sounding stupid but how would i know if the piston rings been damaged.
as you can tell I dont know alot about engines.

About 4 weeks ago I brought a 172 on a 51 plate from a independent dealer.
They are doing a cambelt change on it as it is 5 years old, under the warranty.
thing is they have changed the cambelt and all the bits that go with it, but have bent one of the valves in the process, they are...
Also had a similar problem, mine vibrated and almost felt as if the wheel was snatching in my hands when i cornered and on the straight. got the CV joint replaced which fixed it.
