i found this on an ebay forum, just wondering have any of you tried this? and for those of you with decats failing MOT's on emmisions would this be worth a try? or would this seriously mess up your motor...
Just wondering if anyone knows whats wrong, fair play the car has done 71k, but its gone very tappety. i had a valve replaced and cambelt changed not long ago, ever since then its been very tappety. anyone know whyy???

Reet, thing is i replaced this mount just less than 3 weeks ago. The other thing is i dunno if i did it right, i must have overtightened the bolts maybe??? wtf would it be??
And could someone please give me a step by step, for dummies, guide on how to change it. because im gunna do it again ;)...

just done a compression test on each cylinder, one of them is wayyyyy lower that the other 3, what would this be? worn piston rings? how much is it goin to cost to fix?

Reet, the thing is my car is running on three cylinders. I found out by removing the HT leads one by one, one of them made no difference.
Very recently i have changed my coil pack, my HT leads, and my spark plugs, i even changed the problem plug again. Also cleaned my idle control valve, still...
have you got the wires that go to and from the switch and reset button in the right order? i did them in the wrong order once and that happened what you are describing. lights just flashed then died when powered up.
like most aging clios i think my Idle Control Valve needs a clean, does anyone have a good cleaning method? what to use? anyone got a step by step guide even? cheers

At idle my mk1 ph3 starts making a knocking sound like a woodpecker, it has a very rough idle sound like its trying to stall.
The gearstick also starts shaking a lot with this knoking sound.
What could this be???

i rekon my coil packs packed up, and its making my car run on 3 cylinders. ive got a mk1 phase 3 1.2, so that means i have the D7F DIET engine reet? ive had a scan of GSF but cant work out if theyve got the correct part. can anyone help with this??

ive ad a look around the site for others coil pack problems, it sounds like that. allthough i havent a clue where to find it? or them? i dno what it is haha?:o anyone anypics? or advice? then i cant maybe change this or investigate further? thanks
The problem is i think my mk1 clio is running on three cylinders rather than the 4. It sounds rough and like there is a cylinder missing, i also think that it could be the ignition lead, it smells like its running rich so i just dont think its firing. wheres the best place to get hold of...
whats the best bet for this, wheres best to mount them angles etc? what sort of prices am i lookin at for what sort of quality ? wiring ? wirless? just interested really. thanks in advance for any reply:D
