Think youll find that evo timed it at a slower time. So £1000 (yeah sure it really costs that much) supsension gets you a slower time than the same car with a conventional damper.
No if they timed 100 laps maybe the trophys resevoir dampers would prevent fade and the times would be consistent...
They serve a purpose. The stickers add a visual reference to the car. The wheels are 'competition spec' alloys. The extra stiff subframe, enlarged baffled sump, cup racer based front suspension and unique engine are probably gimmicks though.
Coilovers, schmoilovers.
Gimmick - A unique or quirky special feature that makes something "stand out" from its contemporaries. However, the special feature is typically thought to be of little relevance or use. Thus, a gimmick is a special feature for the sake of having a special feature.
A 'special' damper for...
So you have remote resevoir dampers at the front to 'prevent damper fade' and then you go and get damper fade at the back anyway? I dont get it.
Isnt that like fitting high performance magnesium alloys to the front and they heavy steelies to the back?
Had a good look under a trophy recently. The rears units werent remote resevoir as far as i could see. Can someone confirm they are just standard dampers at the rear?
Yet you bought a 1*2 and are saying the same things now about the 197 that Williams / 16v and 5 turbo owners have been saying about the 1*2 for years.
More refined, heavier, less steering feel, less fun, but more power, which happens to be more peaky, this making a less driveable engine.
I...
Does anyone actually think that Renault would turn up to a day like with cars that didnt have cherry picked engines and blueprinted suspension tolerances?
The proof of the pudding is when you drive the 'road' car and its 15 bhp down and the camber is different left to right by 1 degree.
The whole point is not 'what they can do' but 'what the car is'.
There are other faster cars in its class. But not other car for the money comes close to the reputation the williams has in terms of history and passion.
Owning a williams is about 'ownership appeal', weekend in Ireland on B...
You wouldnt be able to use williams wheels on it, as the arches would be too big and the wheels look out of place. The original maxi kit rally cars could get away with larger 17 inch wheels to fill out the arches as they ran throttle bodies pushing our over 215 bhp. Also they had non standard...
Let it hit the limiter. valver will be 7k+ willy less than 7K (clocks will be innacurate). Williams engine and GB wont do 60 in second.
Check the engine plate (under the airbox). Will say F7R. Little red tag
Check the gb number JB5 not JC3, look down at the box from behind the airbox area...
