I'm having a problem with my 2002 1.2 Clio, which many others seem to have, and the first approach to solving it seems to be cleaning the throttle body.
I phoned up Renault to see what they would charge me to clean it, and they quoted me £172.72! To me, this is excessive. I have a Haynes...
My Clio is 4 years old and i have done 55,000 miles in it. When i come to a stop and put the clutch down, the electronic warning light comes on and it starts idling eratically. To stop the idling problem I have to rev the engine (which makes the electronic warning light go off) if I don't rev...
Mate, I know you said do not post our insurance, but I think I should tell you mine as I'm also 21, male, drive a 1.2 16V, and I have 0NCB (0 points)... I pay £655 with lowered excess and courtesy car
If I were you I'd cancel your policy. It may cost you a months worth (£250ish quid for you)...
Dont mean to thread hijack - but it is related to this.
Just curious as to peoples thoughts on whether this is something you would declare to your insurance company? After all its a standard part, just a little different. Guess the same could be asked about colour coding bumpstrips etc
Thoughts?
Sorry to hijack this thread, but can someone explain to me what is meant by 'feed'. I replaced my standard Renault panel element with a K&N one at the weekend, but only did this direct replacement
Mine
Such an improvement on the standard ones - not sure if they are the best out there but they are more than bright enough for me.
I have H1 and H7 (can't remember which is main and dip - but powerbulbs will tell you if you select your car) and I got free sidelights too. Also got osram...
Very nice effort mate :)
I would have personally had the exhaust cut in a bit more, but that's just me, and at the end of the day you modify a car to make it personal to you and your likes.
The bit I'm most impressed with is the colour coding - makes such a big difference! How much did it set...
This is something I would be interested to know more about. I have a 7inch tablet dvd player but this is too big to mount - like the look of the small 5 inch screens though.
Anyone got pics of monitors mounted in their cars?
You'll probs not get huge gains in bhp on a 1.2 (though other 1.2 owners may prove me wrong!)
I put on a k&n panel filter today and although I can almost guarnatee this does not yield a bhp increase, it certainly feels more responsive and sounds a lot nicer. Feels faster as I am more inclined...
I got a quote for a prospeed custom exhaust for £260 - came with high recommendation from 2 people I know with Clios - one has twin pipes on a trophy with decat and one has stealth pipe with sports cat on a 172. My quote was just for the exhaust tho - little point doing a sports or decat on a 1.2
Car was bought recently second hand (September)
Was not told by the previous owner of any modifications, and certainly seems that way. Will double check it tomorrow, but almost certain it is standard. The exhaust isn't deep anyway, so makes me think it is just standard
Here lies my confusion...
OK, apologies in advance for the essay!
I fitted a K&N panel filter today to my 1.2 2002 Dynamique. Very pleased with the result, however it has made me notice something. Not sure if its a direct result of the filter, or just something it has brought to my attention.
I wanted to test the...
Agree on the panel filter - put one on my 1.2 Dynamique today (K&N) and makes such an improvement - not sure if it provides any more power but engine sounds smoother and has a bit of roar at higher revs
Keep mods simple as people have said
Examples of what I have done:
- philips bluevision...
Cheers for the help guys
I am actually based in Essex, but going to my Dads house in Hertfordshire so was looking at both areas. Colchester is not too far - what was the place called?
I have a scratch around the rear wheel arch on the left to get resprayed, and was thinking of getting it...
Here is my clio at the mo:
I'm thinking of getting it colour coded (colour is Oddyssey Blue Pearl)
What sort of money have people paid for colour coding their cars? Looking at the side, front and rear bump strips, plus the rear spoiler.
Also, anyone know of any good, reasonably priced paint...
I have the Bluevision dip and main beams with Osram Diadem Blue Tint indicators. Don't think I have the tilted at all - just on the normal 1 setting I think.
Passed many police cars etc - no probs - was even stuck behind one for a few mins.
They are so much better than the standard halogens -...
Thinking of replacing the standard air filter with either a BMC or K&N panel air filter. I have a 1.2 16V Dynamique. Not too bothered if I get increase in power or not, just looking not to lose any power but get a nice sound.
Ruled out ITG as they don't seem to do them for 1.2 (or at least I...
Bugger - no way of fixing it or making it less noisy? It still sounds as good as the driver side woofer, just that damn wrrrring noise
What causes the voice coil to hit the back plate?
Shouldn't have bought it on the net - going to be a hassle getting a replacement.
Thanks doc
Yep going to pick up a touch up paint kit tomorrow
Really annoyed with myself though for that momentary lack of concentration - spent lots on my car recently - painted the 16V bullets in silver, new blue tint lights, clear side repeaters, new speakers, floor mats etc - last thing I...
Well Ok its a little more than a scratch. Misjudged getting onto a drive and the rear arch caught the corner of the front wall.
As you can see, its scratched down to the metal, but thankfully it is not bent or dented.
So question time:
1) how much is this likely to cost in the long run to get...
