I bought one as it got great reviews in a classic car mag:o , and as my lil sis works in halford I got a 20% discount, the plastic on the lance was really brittle and I broke it, got a replacement unit, same thing again, gave up after that:(

I put my 172 into get checked as I knew there was something up with the handling, similar to what you are describing. I thought it was the rear shocks, but the garage said they were fine ...MOT a couple of months later and it failed due to rear shocks leaking, and that was a 04 with 30000 miles.
My 172 was from motorpoint and they fitted the alarm, it didnt work very well because when you drove off the doors auto lock which is a factory thing I like(which can be turned off) so when you leave the vehicle and arm the alarm it didnt take into account the auto lock and instead of locking...
