Problem solved! The top rubber donuts were upside down. They must have been changed in the past and put the wrong way up. When I copied them putting hem back together, this was the result! Also the reason the car looked too high when I bought it! Thanks for all your help! FYI: The donuts...

I did an airport run last week and sitting at 65-70 it was returning 51mpg!!!:approve: Bad urban driving which usually entails my missus driving it like a nutter returns 31mpg at worse!

All that and drop a few psi out the tyres too so they don't spin up as easily! Remember to top them back up on the way home though!!!

Fuel economy is enough reason to go for a 172 over say a 197! It was our reason! Can't wait to see it, sounds just like what we went for!

Yeah, I got it! Attatch the ignitor to the plastic ring with TOP up. Slot the bulb in and turn it until it lines up with the top plastic tab on the ring. Place the whole thing into the lens lining up the three plastic tabs and then turn the whole unit clockwise! Finally! The lettering on the...

It is a black inner though, not grey like the 182 so you can't tell when it is on. Thanks, that helps a bit. what would help more is which way up is the writing on the power block?

If you are not running the hidden exhaust of the 172 I'd go with the look of the 182, it's great. Don't know much about Ktecs system so can't comment

I am swapping the headlamp over but the new unit had a black ring holding the bulb in place, the old one a metal spring. The ring is marked top but I want to see which way the power unit clips on. Thanks in advance

I laid everything out the same way it came off to avoid that! I'll check though, should see spots in the mount rubber if they are the right way yeah?

Just fitted Eibach ProKit springs to the 172 and put it all back together. All went well, used the top mounts to hold the strut in place while I attatched them to the hubs. Then went to tighten them after lowering the car back on the ground and they didn't move any higher!!! Now the car looks...
