well brakes were put to the test today whether i wanted too or not . lol . driving along but wasn't paying attention when the car in front of me stopped for no reason . jumped on the brakes and they stopped dead , just how it should , if i had done this in the last month or so i would have run...

my 182 was doing the same thing it turned out it was a faulty alternator, dealer fitted new alternator and all has been fine , ask the dealer to check it for you m8 .

update on brakes. got the car back from the stealers today and thay have changed the non return valve on the servo hose , time will tell if thats repaired the fault , the service manager tried to say that it was driver error and he felt there was nothing wrong with the brakes , driver error once...

my 182 was doint the same , I.E , o/s light going out , took it to renault and it turned out it was the alternator that was faulty and the computer was shutting things off to conserve power , take it to your dealers m8 .

could be a ball joint, or strut top mounting, spring not seated right , steering rack , track rod end, its kinda hard to give advice when you cant hear it for yourself :confused:, just check all the above parts.

you normally get the spigot rings with your new wheels , wheel manufacturers make the wheels to fit other makes of car and the rings make up the difference on the hub diameter, the rings will fit into the wheel , there is a cutout for them to go into , you need to fit the rings or the wheel...

its an easy job ..............for a mechanic or somebody thats good with cars , its a gearbox out jobby you have to make sure the clutch plate is properly lined up for the gearbox to go back in too .
i prefer the looks of my 182 to my old ph1 172 , but , i prefer my old 172 for the handling , not too keen on my 182 as they tend to skip at the rear on cornering if you hit a bump , had a few brown trouser moments in it already lol :p
if its the thrust bearing its all part of the clutch assembly anyway, you get a pressure plate, thrust bearing, and clutch plate with the kit , take it to your local garage will probably cost you around £200. it does sound like the clutch from what your describing , hope this helps ya .
