I’m having the bolt in option on my new gearbox but this one is just to tide me over until it’s finished! So a few spot welds should help.

So I’ve got the standard issue of the gearbox popping the circlip. I put a new one and a new spacer in on Saturday and 60 miles later it’s gone again. I’m having a gearbox built with the issue taken care of but I just wondered in the mean time if it would be safe to weld the circlip in place...

I’m not much of a betting man but I really hope it’s not a internal as it’s supposed to have had a rebuild in the last 5k miles or so.

So I’ve swapped both the top gearbox mount and the dogbone bushes. Fingers crossed. If it still pops out then I’ll drop the gearbox oil this weekend and check for metal flakes...

I’ve replaced the bushes on the lower mount but it’s still popping out of 3rd occasionally...any ideas?

On my clocks there is a green gearstick shaped light on constantly (as shown in the pic circled but green). At any point in the rev range it’s always on, any ideas why? Or is this just one of those random French things?

Ahh that’s good then, I’m used to having a linkage rod as that’s what’s on my Mk2 Astra, will have a look this weekend and get some poly bushes ordered. What’s the best bet for buying a set of mounts and bushes? Sorry to sound a bit slow but I’m not used to these cars yet!

Thanks for the advice mate, I’ll do that test on my way home from work and take it from there. I’m not scared of getting stuck in with fixing any issues anyway.
