I read another post yesterday that said you have to pull the upper dash straight out toward you, not up.
So, in my case, it was probably a mistake to lever up the front of the left hand (airbag) side, because now it's stuck in that position and I can't force it back down into the normal...

I think the problem may be the "automatic adjustment feature".
I put my DMM on the switch and discovered there's one normally open and one normally closed switch.
The 4 pins (=) of the (white) connector are labelled as follows:
1 3
A = =
B = =
So the ID of each pin (going anticlockwise) is A1, B1, B3, A3.
One switch is between A1 and B3...
