My 2004 182 is coming up to 5 years old and Holden Renault have quoted £802 reduced by10% to £720 ,for cam belt change, when pressed. I think they will reduce further if I can get an alternative main dealer quote. This does seem a lot of money, so would be most grateful for any...
Have a one owner 04 182, just coming up to 5 years old. It has done 20,000 miles and I wonder whether it is really necessary to have the cam belt changed. The car is serviced, with synthetic oil change every year.I am retired and a fairly careful driver.
Any comments would be very much...
I have been quoted £150 for a 4 year full service, including £25 for an MOT...Fully synthetic oil, by Thurlow Nunn, in Norwich. This is half what local main dealer is quoting. Has anyone got any views on whether this is OK
Cheers
I am 65 and bought a basic 182 new 2 years ago. It is comfortable around town and obviously very very fast. It is without doubt the most likeable car I have had and I'm seriously considering the new model, but it seems to be getting a bad press here.
cheers
We are all the same about looking after our cars, but has anyone tried to identify the owner of an offending vehicle from the registration number, I dont think the plod would help much.
Some kind shopper left a scratch on the rear panel of my black 182. Has anyone used the scratch stick, or is a better bet to get one of the franchise body repair people to have a look. They seem to do small jobs a lot cheaper than a garage.
Makro (Virgin) have a very good offer on 182, about £11600 I believe. Having bought an imported car recently I would not entirely recommend it, firstly there is a question over the warranty and when you come to sell it or trade it in you lose anything you gained. I also found that the maid...
Im insured with Admiral and the bloke I got the quote from had just bought a 182 himself, he was most helpful ( £300 ) and Welsh, but I dont know his name. I would add that I am quite mature. Ha Ha.
I understood that the 182 was launched in 2003, so how come they are being taken in for the first service due at 2 years old. Or am I missing something.
cheers for that, but the road angel is about £300 more plus yearly subs,so it will be a lot better. It seemed to me that if you got one warning with the cheapo model, it would have paid for itself.
The last thing members of this forum would ever contemplate is exceeding the speed limit...however,next week Makro are offering Euro 220 radar, gatso etc detectors at half price £69.99...my question is does anyone have any experience of this, or any other model, and do they work
Not certain that its similar to my previous car, a 206GTI. But with a sequence of operations ie. switch ignition on for 10 seconds, then switch of for ten seconds, then switch on and start without touching accelerator, let it warm up then drive and get it up to 4K revs for 5 seconds etc etc...
I had heard that as main dealer service costs were astonomic, it is possible to get cars properly serviced by other providers without warranty problems.
Has anyone had any experience of this?
returning to the question of wheel fitting and nuts. The steel wheel i bought does fit over the front disc mechanism ,but as someone observed, the wheel nuts look as if they dont fit. So I got some steel wheel nuts and they are exactly the same, and if you look under the hubcaps of a steel...
Have recently bought a new 182,quite concerned at no spare wheel.Have been advised that when the tubes are used its tricky for fitters to find the puncture to repair. So bought a new 15" wheel and had tyre fitted to match existing (in size), from fitters chart. Cost about £50.Have been warned...
