See where you're coming from, I love me motors me (and bikes) but sometimes there are other things that take precedence.
Anyway, my next motor will be a Ford Cougar simply to upset the owners club I've been booted off from (because I don't fit the real-ale drinking, telling all and sundry I own...
I'm just over the border in Bedfordshire, but I'm from Cambridge way back in my past and usually would align myself more "out that way" as I know precious little about Bedfordshire!
So, it's been quite a while, been rather tied up with other things. The Clio went straight through an MOT at the start of April and has covered about fifteen miles since.
Yesterday afternoon though, I decided enough was enough, it was time to at least show the car a touch of respect!
Firstly...
Not a lot of help but I've got a 24-105L and it's a great do-all lens. Razor sharp too.
Whilst we're on the subject,
BOOM!
Any other film photographers on here?
Looking good.
The aux belt tensioner going squeaky seems to get all of those Ford petrol engines of that era, the cooking models aren't immue either!
Nice work :)
Don't think it'll be the alternator causing a non-start thankfully, however I'm far from an expert at Clio's.
I had an issue with mine intermittently misbehaving and doing something similar which I've tracked down to a fractured earth strap, might be worth sticking a jump lead between the...
Cheers guys, ended up getting the grinder out! The bolt had seized solid in the inner metal portion of the bush, new bolts for re-installation!
Just as well I took the suspension to bits as on removing the OS wheel the CV joint boot had completely split, got a lot of work to do to wipe up...
Hello All!
Any suggestions for my situation my rear wishbone bolt is seized solid through the arm. I've removed the nut which was easy enough but I can't get the bolt back through the bush, I've wiggled the arm and smacked the bolt with a club hammer, heated it, filled it with Plus Gas and...
Well for the second time the MX5 has had a stay of execution and is still sitting on the driveway....Don't ask!
Things I've found now I've driven it a bit more;
a) A/C Doesn't work
b) Desperately needs a "dogbone"
c) Event tyres are rubbish!
Hi all,
Found a few threads but nothing conclusive, I have a ph2 172 and the locking range is pathetic, so much so I now have to touch the key on the windscreen/roof of the car and hold the button down, usually having to "wave" the key over the car whilst pressing the button, eventually it...
Spent a bit more time fiddling with it today (as well as saying a goodbye to my dear old MX5 :( )
Not a lot of pictures but I've got some ABS rings to go on, I found the screw for the centre cap;
I love this little car, it's not the fastest/best handling/slidey/most...
Hi all,
As I've alluded to elsewhere on the forum I've purchased a 172, mk2 ph2 to be exact.
I'll post up the eBay photographs!
Now the guy I bought it from was a solid sort of fella, he looked like he'd stand his round and was more than happy for me to prod and poke away at the car, I...
I'll be switching it back to a standard airbox when one comes up for sale, I'm looking to get this car as smart and as standard as possible.
I'll start a project thread!
Well, and I apologise in advance for these photographs as it's pitch dark down here in Bedfordshire at the moment!
"I know, I'll use this reflective Duck Tape, heat-soak prevention innit, cause' RaceCar Blart!"
"Ah dude, I think this came from somewhere around here....... Yeah, that's...
I'll start a new thread later, but the issues I've found are;
- Think it's snapped an ABS ring as the ABS cuts in on low-speed service braking, then the ABS lamp illuminating and going out again on it's own free will.
- I've never seen such a badly installed induction kit before, comedy...
Well the main issue at the moment is the fact the ABS kicks in during most service braking, I need to investigate this further unless anybody has any common issue!
Otherwise it's just body issues (few scuffs and dinks) but they can be solved by man "man who knows about these things."
I've had...
Can't be bad, I've had countless and varied cars but I like the feel of this one, seems like good fun. I'll miss the tail-out, lethal-goodness of the MX5 at full-tilt but all good things must end, and I'm not ready to conform yet (I did have a Ford Cougar, but the least said about that the...
Not a lot really, it'll be the third car in the household, I currently have a very long-in-the-tooth(1990) tricked out MX5 I drive as an occasional car but whilst she's a good'un she's getting a bit too needy. I used to wield spanners for a living (PSA specialist, kinda) so I want something...
Well, I purchased one today!
Don't know if anybody on here knows this vehicle, not the tidiest one about but details to follow.
Looking forward to hopefully being a useful member of the club!
