The import doesnt affect insurance - its just the insurance company likes to know where the cars come from.
As for the 2 yr warranty thing its a myth, as of Dec 2003 all imorts have 3yrs warranty automatically (starting when first sold), however renault like it if you call them up and let...
Covkid has a point I have a identical 172 for sale at the mo(same price, age, milleage but standard) and a dealer phoned me yesterday and offered me more than the 7.5k you chaps are quoting for a private sale.
no, because its a right hand drive,
the log book will have a dealers stamp in it on the front page, if its not a UK dealers its most prob an import or ring renault cust serices they will tell you in 2 minutes where it came from
absolutely no help now, but i find that if you go up these at an angle you should be fine (the chasis is so stiff that corner to corner you should have plenty of clearence).
Still write the letter they get away with knackering our cars with these damn humps far to often.
Right i didnt realise that we had discussed to death 182 Vs Scooby, I thought we had discussed 182 vs 182 cup to death and my question wasnt related to saving 20kg on a 182, simply can the 182 match the scooby taking into account what was tested! it might just be simpler to take the question...
Not sure if this has been posted up already, but rave reviews for the cup :), Beating the scooby round the track by half a second, based on that and only a 20kg weight saving how do you think the 182 with cup packs would fair Vs the Scooby got to be a pretty close thing...

im up for going to Bedford, i havnt done a track day yet so would be good to stretch the legs of my 172.
it wasnt a williams pretty standard looking Mk2 with a stupid exhaust, cant remember what the graphics said (just very big and red) but trust me you cant miss it, youd hear it long before...
I like the sound of that to, always better than plodding along on your own.
I saw that little black clio with the leter box exhausts (and red graphics in the back window) on the way back, he was making a hell of a noise as he ambled down the road not something i could live with, way to load.

Feirce - I saw on the other thread you might be going form reading, but if you do leave from burnham let me know and ill hook up with you,
I like them, they do have a great hand brake that looks like an airplane throttle.
however the start/stop button is in the wrong place, when i had one every time i stopped (lights/junction) my passenger hit the button and left me looking like a fool that couldnt drive properly. grrrrr
Hi Phil, youll get a completely different drive from the 172, being used to turbo lag and then jumping into the clio its so eager to pull.
Youll find in a straight line of course the 20v t will pull away but the handling round corners isnt to great so a 172 will have the upper hand.
Ive...
unless he was very very small the car was empty :), thats the word on the street hopefully our mystery man will turn up soon and explain his rather extended que time for the strip
