I was just interested in opinions on it.
I know its not the best Sat Nav around, but being only 40 odd built with it I was wondering if it was desirable or not. I'm not in the market for a Ph2 so won't be buying it.
There's a Black '04 182 for sale about 5 mins from my house, with "Built in Sat Nav" < Wording on advert in window.
Its done 112k, looks pretty clean and is up for £1750ono
Sat Nav ones are pretty rare from what I've read.
Worth the money? What would the "Sat Nav" add to the value if anything?
Nice :)
I bought a New Skool BMX last year (Amity Zenta II) to re-live my youth, but my back isn't like it used to be haha.
I've got a '98 Compe at the moment awaiting some wheels, its the one in the picture of my garage, right at the back hanging from the roof :)
I'm with you on the Rust :)
My 100e had been filled with paper and fibre glass...then under seal!! That was in 2005 when prices were still sub 1k so not a massive loss, The only thing I have left from it is the Number plate.
Yeah its the outlay for the tools that is the deciding factor. I'm pretty confident I can do most jobs on a car, a lot if the time its if I can be bothered getting dirty and having a million cuts and bruises on my arms :)
What was that about the Gearbox? :) (Apparently this is normal, they have...
This was about 3/4's of the way there. Just the driveshafts and Starter left before I could remove the 6 Gearbox bolts and lift it out (loads of access once you get there haha)
I've built a few Early 80's ones, mostly Raleigh Burners, but have done some other stuff, And then some slightly newer stuff but generally nothing later than 2000 ish (Apart from my Sons, they both have custom mid 00's Mongoose). Fixie's seem to be the in thing for the last yr or so...not done a...
Well I made a start today, my Garage was pretty much rammed with bikes, tools and stuff!
I worked on the theory that if my Passat Estate fits in the garage a Clio would fit as well as my Work Bike with room to spare :)
Winner
Yes, I agree 100% with what you're saying.
I've changed loads of Cambelts, mainly VAG stuff as thats generally what my daily drives are, and all my "Second" cars or Track cars have been pre 90's stuff which are all pretty straight forward.
When the Clutch went on the Wife's Mini, I rang our...
Yeah thats my question really....
How much will all the tool's cost....compared to having the belts down by a specialist, say I keep the car for 2 belt changes over how ever many years....take into account time doing it as well.
Whats the cost of a specialist dong it? £500?
Cheers...
I'm an Aircraft Electrician by trade, so with that and my Mechanical back ground I'm not to bad. Although some car electronics can be quite complicated from passed experience!
Ok...so its probably been asked a million times before about the timing belt/Aux,pulley etc..., but I'm gonna try and ask this in a different way.
I'm looking for a 172 (Ph1), I don't wanna spend 2k+ on a mint low miler as I'll be driving it a lot and although I have a garage, it would be on...
Yeah 40 is old.....I'll probably buy a Volvo or something when I'm that age....o and a nice Tartan Blanket :p
On a different note..... the 27k Ph1 on eBay is only 20 miles from me :S
It's a small hot hatch thing.....
I think most Petrol heads that were born in the 70's/80's have had a similar line up of cars :)
A lot of the forums I go on I bump into other people that have also been on the same forums etc...
Yes XRtwo.com, been a member since around '99 (2003 on the latest forum) Was a mod for about 5yrs I think. After I sold my last Fiesta I stepped down and pop back there now and again to see whats going on :)
I think its the interior that I don't like on the Exclusive, looks to "old" man...
Cheers all....
Its always good to have a few keyboard warriors about, it can get a bit boring otherwise. I was a Mod on a "Fiesta" forum for quite a few yrs, so had my fair share of them :)
Chi.... bit of a trek, but for the right car I may make the run. What ya got?
Yeah...the first time I looked at it I was quite off put by it's first impression....thats before I even done some research on them. It's been removed from my Watch list :)
This one

Its only 60 odd miles from me, maybe worth a look, but i can't work out if its just how its parked, or it is actually sitting high?
My wife's only 27...you know what the say aye... "You're only as old as the women you feel....blah...blah"
I'm not in a massive rush, but would like something this side of Christmas/New year or if not then by the spring. I see there is a couple of "Exclusives" on the bay at the moment, but...
Cheers :)
Weekender ish...
Wife's got a Mini Cooper (2002) (BMW) and I have a Passat Tdi estate (2004), both are daily drives and far from perfect...they both work and mechanically they are spot on. But I want something to fiddle with and clean every weekend :)
I restore and build custom...
Evening.....
One of the few forums I'm unusually not a member of, my username's been registered at some point in the last 15yrs on most car forums, and 1 of my many (about 2) passwords generally works.... :)
Anyway, I'm Phil (you probably wouldn't have guessed by looking at my username), I'm...
