Is rust getting common on older Clios then? One of the reasons I bought one was that rust wasn't a major issue. Amazing job on those fixes m&l172! Wish I could fix bodywork!

Update: Honda dealer where it's usually MOTed have agreed to repair and fix damage free! Also wishbone was confirmed to be the original 15 year old part. Very good customer service from Rowe's Dobwalls. She's getting the one on the other side replaced for peace of mind.

Probably the LEDs which back-light it. If you're handy with a soldering iron or know someone who is, you should be able to swap 'em.

Thanks, me too, it's easy to sort mechanically, but the damage it did to the door / wing / sill probably won't be cheap... Easily more than the car is worth.

Looking at my pics again it looks like it had been cracked at the top for some time, also the tyre wear could confirm that. b****cks to that happening at speed going round a bend. I drove this EP3 about 3 weeks ago and it felt fine. Obviously wasn't though. Be careful out there. @imprezaworks...

Get it code read... your car is OBD2 compliant, one good thing the EU did for us. You're just guessing otherwise. Most places will be able to read the engine ECU codes.

It would be great if someone would reply to this obviously intelligent post. If the outside edge has threads I expect it's worn though for some reason. Can't help more but obviously that isn't good.

Also 5w40 is what I use and it doesn't burn much at all.

Water smoke will be clear, i.e steam. Get a lot of that from the 182 in the winter... even when warm and ticking over... But not at the moment. I'd check the oil and go from there. See if it's really burning oil.

Mine uses from Max to near Min in about a year / 6000 miles (182, 71,000 miles, healthy, Fuchs Titan oil). Hope it helps.

Keep a check on the oil level, if it doesn't use much don't worry, most of the engines I've had will use a little bit near the redline, although 5k sounds low. Also have you got the right grade of oill in there, as that will do it too.

Nah, not going mental and everything electrical works... it just wiped once when the ignition was turned on. It's gone back to not doing it anymore. Interesting 'problem'.

If it stays on for exactly 30 seconds then it's different from mine, mine just does one wipe then parks normally.

I'll update in the future, I'm an electronics tech so I'll know what to look for etc... It is weird!

Thanks all, it's not doing it now, I expect it to be a UCH related thing, I won't be replacing the wiper unit because something is telling it to do it, it's UCH-related I'm sure.

Brilliant, lots more fun to drive than a Clio... I love old Pugs if you hadn't worked that out... My 106 was fun as fook.
