My mate has a 52 plate clio 1.4 16v,was in at renault getting coil changed and asked the spanner monkey to have a look at the timing belt,was given the reply "its ok mate,dont need it at 55k" sure enough 3 days later it went,renault quoted nearly 5k for a new engine but is the engine the same...

Just picked up a clio 16v with a problem,turn the key it turns over but wont catch,floor the throttle and it will but you have to keep the pedal planted to get it to just tick over so its undrivable,anyone any ideas where to start,cheers

Whats the usual indicated top speed on a 1.4 rt (M reg). With 140 on the clock and rated at 105+ by magazines i still cant get above 80.I know big wheels and wide arches act against the aerodynamics and such but surely it should go faster than that?:confused:

Does anybody know of a garage in the ayrshire area that would put a 16v engine into my 1.4 RT,ive tried at least 10 and am getting nowhere.Icant take the time off work to travel crazy distances to drop off and pick car up again,surely somebody can help?:(
