    why is car at very low idle speed

    my gf has just purchased a 02 plate 1.6 clio. the cars idle speed when the engine is switched on hovers around 400-500 rpm, basically on the verge of cutting out. it has twice as far as i know. today she has had a full exhaust fitted thinking this would cure the problem, (the cat had gone) but...
