Had exact same prob with my cup including zig zag light on dash. There's a big white multiplug at the bottom of the engine bay fuse box. Pull it apart and it'll be full of green corrosion which I'm afraid to say took me ages to clean it all off. Not sayin it's def ur problem but I had exactly...
Ok so changed speedo sensor today and still the same. Yet no stuttering when it's disconnected. More than likely a wiring fault as usual do we think?? Don't suppose anyone's got a wiring diagram of where the speedo wiring from the sensor goes?
Right here's one for you boys! Basically I've had this stuttering problem for sometime now. Particularly in 3rd gear. Feels as if when doing a constant speed in say 3rd the throttle keeps cutting in and out. Put foot down and it clears. Now when the speedo sensor at the back of the gearbox is...
Hi guys. Ok I'll start from the top.... Bought a 03 plate 172 cup couple months back as a project. Now when I got it the engine was clattering badly, cutting out etc. I stripped the timing covers off to find that the belt was actually slack, so got new belt, new dephaser and timed it all up...
Morning guys. After weeks of misfiring and cutting out and changing near every single part on the engine have finally discovered my problem. Have checked the timing twice but have just noticed the d clamp I've gots bent hence my timings well out. Anyone got a d clamp ( that's not bent ) lol that...
hi guys has anyone had any experience with these standard exhausts? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Renault-Clio-2-0-172-01-06-Exhaust-Centre-Rear-Exhaust-System-/350809875064?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Model%3AClio%7CCars+Type%3A2.0+16V+Sport&hash=item51ade5e278
needing a new standard...
think ive cracked it mate, I have the cambelt fitting guide and was looking at the tensioner picture on it. went out and looked at the tensioner on the car and the marks that should be lined up are a mile out, like 1cm out.
Well I've not got them locked yet and it's def slack like that vid. Bit concerned I could turn the tensioner wheel by hand also with very little resistance. I take it if the belts slack it could cause all sorts of problems? I.e. clattering due to incorrect timing. Don't suppose you've got a pic...
right guys following on from this I have just noticed two videos on youtube of an incorrectly fitted cambelt on these engines. the guy basically grabs the belt between the two cam pulleys and moves the belt up and down. this is exactly what my belt is doing. I noticed this as soon as I took the...
cheers guys. I honestly didn't think that amount of movement in the dephaser would cause such a clatter. looks like am just gonna have to open the wallet and be done with it. btw anyone know where the tdc timing mark is on the flywheel? apparently you can see it through the gearbox bell housing...
