    Turtle wax ice

I got a load of the Ice stuff for free (when my car was used in the Top Gear promotion when it was launched...!), was not that impressed with it. It does not "polish" the surface, just adds a superficial shine to it, which I guess is quite good as it means you can make the car look good...

Quick one - what engine oil does a 182 need? I assume something like elf synthetic 5w40, or thereabouts. Need to put some in, but am away from home and have no manual/paperwork with me! Cheers

    Temperture problem...

Hey, Car (55 plate 182, 19k miles) has developed a problem... the engine was warm and I was driving along motorway at 70mph (obviously) when the temp gauge fell to zero and the car started to splutter and not respond to the throttle. It recovered after about 15 seconds or so and the gauge...

    Blipping on Downshifts

That's how it's done, I've pretty much always done it (so 10 years now!), my Dad used to do sprints and hillclimbs in his MGB, so he taught me as soon as I had passed my test (and even before, in an old Mini we had when I was 15) With practice you should be able to get through 1-8 above in...

Drive lots to save your brakes!

Took my car into R-Sport in Wimbledon as the brakes were getting a little soft (weaker than my wife's 1.2 Micra), thinking the pads needed changing. Not so, the discs were badly corroded and need changing! I dont use it that much (around 6k miles per year) and he said that my leaving it...

ESP & Service lights came on today...

hey, just wondering if this has happened to anyone else, and if it was a warranty job? after about 30 mins of driving the ESP and "SERV" lights come on. they go off if I restart the engine, but come on again after about 30 mins. Last service was July 06 at 12,000 miles, have only done 5k...
