I cant remember what it was, but I'm fairly sure there was a reason that I ended up doing it this way. could have been something to do with the immobiliser ring, or barrel wiring... it was 9 months ago so...
WOO!
MOT sorted.
Had to rebuild both rear calipers.
Can't drive it still as I'm waiting for the V5 to be issued (previous owner never bothered to send it off...)
Mm-kay! - All I'm saying is its a bigger job than some may think, you essentially have to source, transport, and completely disassemble 2 complete vehicles, making one good one, and if you're going to do it well, by god it takes a lot of time!!!!!!!
Its perfectly possible to make a running...
....maybe in over-estimating what you are delivering for that...
are you saying MOT ready, guaranteed pass? rear brake swap, seat swap etc,
or simply "it starts"
1K labour?? not nearly enough given the time and effort required to do a GOOD job.
And there's the custom exhaust, renewing various bits along the way, engine service, poly bushes, making the heating, AC, windows, lights etc work...
Yes that does sound cheap!!!! you got a proper bargain there!
Of course its totally per-van basis on quality, spec etc.
To actually have one built for you... , you'd probably be looking £10k+
Whats the going rate for these at the moment? Obviously it depends on the quality of the job, donor van and clio, and what works etc, but... ?
I know what mine owes me, but i just had to dig a random value figure out of the air for insurance... I said £4k
(Mine is silver, solid donor body...
They're £120 each + £41 exchange deposit. (Eurocarparts) even at their current "SALE60" they are around £80 each.
The seal kit for both, with new pistons was £35... so... I'll stick with my rebuild plan.
OK thanks guys, I'll leave that bit in situ!
