Ask if it's had the cam belt changed - should be changed after 5 years or 72k I think (some recommend changing it at 60k).
If not you're looking at a ~£500 bill this year which you might want to use to haggle with.
The problem came back last weekend so took it into the local Renault garage.
Result was I needed a new UCH for £410! Ouch.
Apparently a wire had come loose and burnt out the UCH.
Well, not quite sure what happened but after charging the battery last night and leaving it all day the problem seems to have cleared.
I just gave it a good thrash up and down the motorway for a good hour and all is well.

I noticed this same problem when I fitted some sportlines a while back - was very noticeable on the driver's side. Just in case the rubber bush was worn I forked out £40+ for a new one from Renault. I fitted this yesterday and there is no difference, loads of play.

I had the same and was told at the 36k service it was an exhaust hanger that had rotted through. Check that as well.
At one point my struts were squeaking at the back as well but that disappeared of it's own accord a while back.
Mine passed first time, though I had to have the rear pads replaced as braking efficiency was too low at the rear.
This was at Theale Motorworks, Berkshire. I had the 36k service done at the same time. They were pretty good apart from putting tyre pressures up to 45psi all round!
