Mine did this recently (thread in this section somewhere named strange earth fault or something) and the symptoms were a dodge earth connection between the gearbox and chassis (front near side under the car).

The AA guy tested that earth and that was the one at fault, even though the earth wire worked when relocated.

Ok so driving along and car died. No power, no lights, nothing. Pushed to side of road and all of a sudden came back to life! Fine for a few days then last nights hen I came out of the gym went to start it and it was switching on but just clicking when I went to start it. After a couple of goes...

Replaced the part today, along with the updated wiring loom, and it seems to be sorted. Starts fine cold or warm now. The old part had a blue plug too but it wasn't marked as Renault so I imagine it was an eBay special! Fingers crossed now!
