Nope, it will displace the moisture but will leave it oily which is not good. If you are skint just open the light up and give it a good clean.

As above, open up light, clean the area, remove any water, spray with switch cleaner/moisture displacer. Servisol is a good switch cleaner.

Only guessing, but its possible that the brake light has a switched negative. Therefore the positive is already present and when water shorts out between the metalwork of the car and the light it is possible to bring the light on permanently
I just tried to close the drivers side front electric window on my clio 172 ph.1 and there was a horrible grinding noise.:S The window will no longer go up electrically (i have to lift it by hand) but it will go down on the switch. Has anyone any idea what the problem might be/how easy it is to...
I agree, I have a Ph1 172 X reg. with a genuine 33000 miles (I've had it from new) everything is immaculate except from the steering wheel, they are crap.:S
Local garage did it, i've only had it back for a day and I will take it back to them. I was just seeing if it could be a sensor or something simple first.
Just got my car back after cam belt snapped(Clio 172 ph1.) Fully repaired(new valves) it drives fine but wont tickover until warm, it doesn't even try to tickover. Anyone got any ideas, sensors etc? Cheers in advance.:)
