Awesome, great write up and glad it was an overall good weekend! I was looking into the 182 Championship before and remember you replied saying you were planning to enter, so good to see how it went! My plans changed and I've ended up with a 197, so looking at the 750MC Hot Hatch series now...
Well, I'm finally in the 197 club! I've got a 182 that I'm selling to my Dad next week, and picked up a 197 yesterday. Very happy with it so far; Milltek exhaust, H&R springs, Cup spoiler, few other little bits. Can't wait to get it on track!
Well, when I said ‘closest track’ I meant closest on the Tricolore Trophy calendar, it’s still a good 50-60 miles away! Not too bad still though. What series are you looking at?
Yeah I imagine there's a lot going on. Sounds good, maybe see if we can catch up after Silverstone!
Had a look and it looks a great series for a beginner. Unfortunately Cadwell is way too far for a day out, but Mallory or Donington are much more local! Would be good to pop up to one of those.
Sounds like you took a similar route to the one I'm looking at then, as I'll be planning to take my ARDS then join in a championship, however next year rather than this year. I'll keep a keen eye on your thread, and see if I can get down to Silverstone to see how a fellow CS member gets on!
Hi guys, does anyone on here race in the 750 Motor Club championship for the 182? I'm looking to go racing next year and would love the chance to pop down to a race meeting and have a chat or something with someone already competing! Thanks a lot in advance.
Good effort! Like a good transformation. Makes you realise how much wider the 1*2's are over standard though when you see the original wheels without spacers in there!
Thanks, it's a small thing but it makes a huge difference to the look of the car. I had the help of a mate who's done it before, and it probably took a couple of hours to do both. We didn't rush it or anything because it can be easy to mess it up and then it's difficult to fix!
After sorting out the headlights and giving the exterior a bit of a freshen up, I took advantage of the nice weather and went for a little drive around the Cotswolds!
Whilst out I met up with a guy I know in a face-lifted GT86, so decided to take a few quick photos of two awesome drivers...
Yeah the Sabelt Renault Sport one is nice! I wanted that one but couldn't really justify the extra just for the branding. The OMP one is great and I'd definitely recommend it, seems to be wearing fairly well too.
I think it was about 130ish including the boss, and I made a little back from selling that on. I still have the original so tempted to get it re-trimmed at some point, but as it's not a daily driver it seems a bit pointless!
It's an OMP Targa in suede, 330mm I believe, which seems to be the sweet spot. I also spent a bit more on an Oreca boss as the OMP one it came with was causing problems with the steering angle sensor, as it doesn't have the little tabs necessary to slot into it. Oreca one seems better made...
Mammoth update time! So, since the last update in October 2014 there's not been a whole lot to report...it's mostly been given run-outs at weekends and kept ticking over, and at one point I even considered selling it. However, it's such a brilliant car and drives so well (even compared to my...
First off, sorry for getting peoples hopes up...it's still not being made, but it visited work earlier this week so I had to get some photos of it up close and personal! Ignore the bow, I think it was supposed to represent its visit being our present 😂
