Re: ***How much is my car worth?***
hello,
monaco blue 172, 52 plate, 80k miles, 6 months MOT, 6 months tax, front bumper needs respraying (many stone chips), and ABS sensors need doing.
has ktec decat (have cat to go with it in good condition) and ktec cat back full system (with exit cut...
quite honestly in my personal experience (which really is just personal use) fitting a panel filter makes no odds, the difference to standard (in terms of fuel economy) is neglible. perhaps a wee bit more low down pull on take off but even in terms of performance, no "real" noticeable difference...
I personally set my fronts to 33 psi and my rears to 31.
any one have any other recommendations while on the pressure subject?
sorry to hijack - well done for posting a genuine RR result too.
too many "electronic superchargers" out there making it easy to get 271 bhp from a standard engine...
look on this site for NW Performance's website link.
you can get one from there for £50-70 - I can't remember exactly.
do not pay renault prices - these ones are of good quality.
very easy job to fit yourself with a bit of patience, an axle stand a spanner - the rest is symantics. ;)
+1
when I was a naive 17 year old I had a 1.6 litre ford, and I spent alot of money trying to get more power, even from a 1.6.. and anything short of boost (thousands of pounds) wouldn't of made a big difference.
when you sell the car and add the thousands needed to get near a 172's power...
right, I swapped my lambdas to see if it made a difference when she was running really poorly, and it made none.. they are an identical part, therefore if the precat one can resist that sort of abuse, the after cat one can too.
also those sensors are literally a 15 minute job to change, just...
yeah - just a wee bit concerned driving it. thanks tom.
this sucks. I've thrown alot of money at it. you live and learn.
do not buy french cars.. they may be fun but they just break your heart :(
hey all,
just recently my car was running ok, after it blew a plug, a local company helicoiled it, but after 2 or so months it started sounding like a scooby.. that is the only way I can describe it.
I have changed the coil pack, the plugs, the leads, the MAP sensor, the air filter, checked...
had it out and replaced the bracket today, one of the bolts closest to the front left won't grip up, the old one stretched and ripped the threads so no idea what to do. at this point I'm startng to quite literally give up with this car.
still running like a pig after NGK plugs, figure I'm...
it's running a standard air box with panel filter, JMS remap (think it's the fastchip one), ktec cat back and decat.
I have tried unplugging the after cat sensor that goes in the exhaust to see if there was a noticeable difference, I didn't see one.. I just wondered, does this mean that sensor...
ah, I didn't manage to find one and it's been a while now so I figured I'd go reno. just picked up a new bracket and 3 bolts for the sum of £102 after VAT.
going to fit them this afternoon.
I also got the MAP sensor from cliospares for 18 quid vs. 75 at renault - touch - thanks cliospares...
hey,
sorry to revive this old thread but since you've all been so helpful I couldn't resist...
does anyone know a part number or specific name for that bracket?
I rang renault (davis of sevenoaks) and tried to describe it as cliospares had none, and basically they are telling me they can't...
