this may sound obvious but have tryed a ECU reset? I don't mean taking it to renault I mean disconecting battery, leaving for 30 mins and re-connecting. If ECU had gone in to safe mode, this should sort it. I had a fiat coupe that I modified and whenever I messed around with boost it would go in...
got my service done yesterday at Edgedale Garage in sheffield, cost was £100 including fitting new rear pads and rear wiper blade. Supplied own oil and filter. Seemed very professional service and trustworthy, spotted the pads were worn which I already new about and rang before doing any work...
cool, thanks for the replys guys.
I've heard of place in leeds thats run by father and son, (son does tuning side) and the specialise in renault but can't remember the name now. Any1 think of it?
Hi,
just realised my service is due but can't find any info on decent garages or specialists in the sheffield area, can any1 give me some advice on where to take my 172? There's a renault main dealer in sheffield but i'm trying to avoid it.
cheers

Evo is all well and good, very fast etc. but you've got to factor in the running costs, 6k mile service intervals, petrol consumption, insurance, wear and tear etc. you wouldn't really be getting one for the same price as a FRS, it's the initial cost then another £3-4k a year. No thanks!!
thanks for the replies, maybe it's all phsycological, my last car was a fiat coupe 20vt so I'm used to loads of midrange and that had a throttle cable. I guess I'll go with what feels best which is feeding throttle in gradually.
cheers
This might sound a bit odd but I've found recently that when I ease the accelerator down slowly rather than jam it to the floor, the car seems to have a lot more go about it, especially in the midrange, is this maybe due to the ammount of petrol going in at once, i.e. can flooring the pedal...
Ive noticed my radio switching itself off and found rerence to this in the manual but not sure if it should? Also the clock only comes on when the radios on, is that normal? its a mk2 172 by the way!
