Chaps,
My 172 is still under warranty and Ive just paid £305 for my 36K, which is about what I expected.
But the Dealer (Bridges Renault in Cirencester) tell me that my alternator belt needs doing (£180) and the drive shaft will need doing soon (£300+). I do get a a clunking noise when on...
Dont even think twice about it. Ive got a 172 now, having sold my Impreza turbo a year ago. 172 is OK but Scoob was the business. Ok, its not that much faster than the Cup, but so much better in terms of driving position, build quality and SOUND.
If you can afford to run the Scoob, theres...
Hey Guys,
Orrible winter weather - mild, damp, and roads very slippery. My standard 172 doesnt seem to have much grip on roundabouts, especially if you carry a bit of speed in, and then apply some right foot when you see the exit. The car wants to waltz. Its fun, but is it normal/typical...
Should easily get 40+ on a long motorway run. Never quite sure how accurate the gauge is though, especially when the low petrol light comes on and the "miles left before you need to fill up" reading reverts to zero...
Thanks for your suggestions guys. The blocked aircon drainage was spot on...but it did take the dealer 5 hours to locate the problem!
All OK now...hopefully. Thanks again.
Thanks guys. I think that the leak is actually coming from under the dash, and finding the lowest point in the footwell. Hopefully Reno will sort it on Monday. I still think that it may be a washer hose leak, but only a small one thats activated when I use it.
Chaps,
Serious comments only please!! 2001 172.
The carpet under the drivers seat is soaking. I took it into the main dealer a few weeks ago, and they said that some drainage holes in the body had become blocked. The said that it would be fine after theyd cleared them.
It hasnt rained...
I drove a silver 360 Spider at the weekend up at Mallory Park circuit on a Ferrari experience day.
Unbelievable. Stunning grip and brakes. Acceration not bad either! Awesome sound - roof down, V8 400 bhp just a foot from the back of your head.
Im in love.
Chaps,
Any idea how accurate these are? Itd just that on the first tank of petrol in the 172, I apparently managed 40.1 mpg. Most of the driving was to and from work, 20 miles each way, in a queue of traffic doing about 45-50mph.
I imagined that being such a nippy little beast, the 172...
Confused of Cirencester here...
Have just bought a 172 (2001 car).
Sometimes when I lock the car having been out in it, the lights dont just flash, but the system bleeps three times at me as well. The car is locked. but Im not confident that the alarm is armed. Other times, I just get the...
Im the ex-Impreza driver who bought an Accord Sport in a moment of maturity. Totally bored for 3 months.
Traded it in against my 51 plate 172 last night. 12,000 on the clock. Immaculate. Absolutely love it. Im smiling again...and I got 38 mpg on the way to work this morning (in a 50mph...
Guys, Ive made a dreadful mistake.
Until February, I drove an Impreza Turbo. I loved it to death, but chopped it in cos of the high service cost, short service interval (every 7,5000, and I do about 18,000 miles per annum),insurance of £600, and its mpg of never better than about 25.
I...
