Bought my phase 1 at 54, sold it at 64, didnt feel too old for it at all, although i do feel too old for the 2 seater i replaced it with, just cannot get out of it with any dignity.
I did use big red for the ones i actually overhauled and non clio ones ive done, but these were cheaper and thought i would give them a go. Moral there i think
I bought a pair of front caliper overhaul kits, on opening the box (one side) i have a new piston, a new seal to go in the caliper ( somewhat bigger than the piston) and a funny looking outer seal. Also got the parts shown in second photo which seem to be for a twin piston caliper, What a load...
When i fitted new front discs i meant to fit some overhauled calipers ( taken back to shiny metal, new pistons and seals fitted) so i thopught its abot time i fitted them.
Its not ruined, its my car so its as i like it, its not for anyone else, its still on the road and has a full interior. Nothing has been changed thats not reversible.. Any way its still going nicely, even my home made exhaust hasnt even needed adjusting. So its time for this..
Yeah I run 16 inch rims with 195/45 tyres as I think 195/50 look a bit balloon like, could run 195/45 x 15 but this would lower the gearing which on a road car I don't want to do. However while temporarily fitting some 15 inch rims with 195/50 tyres (same make/type tyre) I did think it drove...
Good cars in their day,Had one 25 odd years ago, mot always a problem emission wise, it got stolen and although recovered I then lost interest in it. Recently thought I would get another but I couldn't live with the build quality and very quickly sold it on.
