Looks nice but how the f**k can you afford that? My 1.2 is £1300 to insure so I dread to think what that costs.

Congratulations on owning a 200,

Something might not quite be right here, now as far as i,m aware, the age to hold a provisonal license for a car is still 17, now if you started lessons on your birthday and you took say 6 months to pass your test ( well done if you did ), was your first car an Octavia vRS as your avatar suggests ?, if it was then you are indeed a very lucky 18 year old to have had two such cars by the time you reach 19,, but IMHO probably not bought, taxed and insured by you.

Give the lad a break! Who cares if his parents helped him or he's got a massive loan, or made money himself! His money, life, car. Congrats on such a great car so young :)

Why are people so hung up on what age he is? Who cares?

Looks nice mate, enjoy it!

Lol.

Im so glad I never took the plunge at a young age. The insurance prices were horrific for a 172!!! Bye bye social life.

All about where your priorities lie though.

Deep pockets some people have them. Even if you didnt have loads of money you could live of boiled lentils ect ect.

I'd do the same Spinksy, just put my own mark on a good car already! I'd love to own a 200! At the age of 20, I find myself lucky to own a 172!

It's a buggar. I was thinking earlier, I've seen a thread on here where some guy put up a very detailed account of running costs of I think he had a 200! The figures were astronomical! Makes me think how people can afford to run cars these days, let alone high performance cars at a young age. My insurance isn't the best, but I have to pay it because I want a 172. It's nearly double what I was paying on my old 1.4!

sorry to hijack your thread. Lovely colour. Lovely motor! Take care of it buddy,

Who really gives two f***s what the lad pays for insurance? He wants a nice car and is prepared to pay for it which is fair enough. So many people obsessed with young folk paying high insurance on this forum.

Lovely car btw.

Lovely car mate, very very lucky to have something like that at 18, would be lying if I said I wasn't jealous myself!

no one does by the looks of it. I was just stating in general, running costs/high performance vehicles. I was saying to Spinksy that yes it is expensive and like you say, gotta pay it if you/he/I want to drive such a car. No one is obsessed, apart from with the cars :rasp:

people really need to stop buying clios for their first cars.

my 1.4 was £1600 to insure at 19 with a crash. how is everyone paying more for a smaller engine?!

At 19 my 200 was less than a grand. I'm 22 now and my Audi and 182 are both insured for business use for less than 1k. There is a few claims on my record too.
