I'm always undecided too, doesn't look right on silver but on a flamer it does.

I've painted my graphite gray but only a thin coat so it looks the standard colour.

My mates ph1 has colour coded strips. Looks awesome, but i do prefer ph2 strips on the ph1 as wrong as that is.

As Rhys said, I take them off when I detail the car. Easier than taping them up and means I can get all the crap out from underneath them.
