I really need to get a good camera down there, pics definately don't do it justice.

And how much do you suppose that would've cost?

Just the other day I was thinking about how much SG would suit the MK2 shape more than the MK3 :)

It wouldn't of cost any more, you do realise paint is paint right? Everything is mixed and can be mixed to the correct shade.

I had a Samco blue rollcage to match my hoses and match was spot on perfect. Just because a paints on an expensive car doesn't make it expensive. Only pearls like Liquid Yellow put price up as there are more layers and more labour.

All these spray jobs going on makes me tempted to do mine but I have no idea what sort of budget should be allowed for a full respray?

P.s This car should be epic when its finished.

Well, it looks like a sort of satin finish.
Similar to the paint I saw on a Bentley Supersport, a £9k option iirc.

You can't be telling me that labour alone accounts for a 10,000% mark up?

Sam (The guy who owns the car) is a panel beater by trade so as you can imagine, the car is pretty much flawless. He's estimated that to do this to a customers car from scratch would cost in excess of £3000. Probably £4k+ once you factor in a decent roll cage.

Strip car completely (Glass and engine out) fab and fit cage, paint then refit car... Its a huge job.

Knew I should have took up panel beating as a trade lol. Thought it would cost something like that worth it though I guess.. wish I had enough money to go and do that :(.

His was more because the cage was painted a different colour, that took nearly a whole day to mask up properly!!

I'm doing the cheaper option of painting the interior gloss black and the exterior is being wrapped in lambo satin grey. :D

I know what colour it is and you comparing two completely different things.

Bentley can charge what they want from the factory to spray it a "special" colour.

Putting Satin paint on a car afterwards is no different to putting on a standard flat colour.

Good idea mate Lambo satin grey will look mint.

I might look into that actually I know someone who wraps cars for a living so could get a good price.

I have a mate that does it and would normally charge £1200 for a car like mine and he's said he'll do it for just the cost of vinyl, so about £200. :)

The thing is, its a track car so if I have a prang, I can just buy a panel, get it wrapped the correct colour and fit it back on. Sorted.

If its painted some custom colour then its going to be a nightmare when/if I knock it.

That's a bloody bargain mate what car you wrapping? A clio?

Yeah sounds good Im thinking same thing I just love it when my car looks spotless so Im sure giving it a wrap will be a good idea and can always be removed if its no good.
Cant believe I hadn't already thought about it I guess the main problem is they cant be cleaned like normal paint and I love getting a car all shiny, hmmmm.

Small update. I had to make do with the poor light in the unit as there are about 6/7 cars blocking everything in.

Powder coated bits are all on (rear beam which has the pure motorsport kit fitted) bottom arms etc all powder coated, seats are in, brake lines and bias valve fitted, brakes all fitted.... He's been a busy boy.

I'd hate to think what this would cost if you paid someone to do all of the work...

Easily £20,000 I think.

It's amazing how much this has come on since I saw it when I bought the RB from you guys, was just a shell at the time!

I know what you mean about the cars is that big old Merc still sitting next to it in the picture?
