Fiesta ST

Well after selling the Clio I fancied a change and after driving a few different cars ( Mini cooper S,182,197 & ST) the ST came up trumps! (my opinion)

I have had it just over a month, got off to a rough start due to a few silly electric issues but all is sorted now.

The only thing I am not a huge fan of is the driving position ... the seats look great but aint the best!

Anyway I didn't keep it standard long ....

current mods:

Lowered 35mm on eibach springs (coilovers when I can afford ones with damping adjust)
Flexi pipe, to remove the restrictive ford one!
Piper induction kit

Mods to come:

Wheel/body paint refurb
exhaust
dreamscience
cams

Anyway some pics after a clean:

Not wanting to sound to negative but how? The fiesta's are nice don't get me wrong but the other 3 do everything that bit better.. imo of course

Lovely looking car always liked them. But dnt you find it alot slower than all the other mentioned cars? even with you list of proposed mods your only hoping for what 165bhp?

I love everything about them, apart from the rediculously high driving position.

well apparently .... with induction kit and flexi they get 160bhp due to it freeing up the engine, I won't know till I RR it but by then it will have exhaust and decat.

The duratec is alot easier to tune and get power from they sell tuning kits for them for 160bhp to 190bhp without adding a turbo's or super chargers etc! Come at a price obviously but what doesn't

I didn't fancy another clio tbh and the mini's where just over priced for what they are... they hold value better than most cars on the road.

Yeah i agree about minis, hold there value well though

Yea, was nice and cheap being only 19 when I got it, Fair enough them not being everyone's cup of tea each to their own!

Lovley mate, i really have alot of time for these...!

Ignore the haters, they are usually the ones that have never sat in one never mind driven one.

Anyway, you should consider the Mountune kit, it transforms this car to what it should have left the factory like, it makes it sound sublime to add!

If you havent got that kind of money id advise a mountune full exhaust, viper induction kit and cosworth camshafts. Again, it makes it such a better car to drive!

Good luck with it, they really are fantastic hatches

Cheers mate .... I plan on gettting the puma speed kit if any due to it being cheaper but with the same results, only time will tell though.. still got plenty of time to decide the kits aint cheap!

I am abit undecided about the exhaust, I love the sound of the group N rally systems but might go for a quiet system as I don't know if I could cope with the sound of a noisy exhaust again.

I've been looking at these as an upgrade, along with a 182, Cooper S, or some sort of A3.

It seems to be the most reasonable on insurance. But they keep their value quite well and they've not quite dropped into my budget yet.

Lovely car mate.

I like the look of them! Good buy.

They certainly need an injection of poke. They're quite a bit off 182/197/MCS pace, as standard.

Breathing mods will free up so much power mate, Milltek, filter is enough even to make a difference.

Great cars, gearbox is like a ferrari compared with your clio.

My mates one - 310bhp supercharged, Cosworth inlet and cams, AP 4 pots and a Gripper diff. Absolute animal.

Much more like it!

Yup the gearbox's are something else compared to the clio's... I am going to get the short throw kit from GGR at ford fair or RS day as they are selling them for half price at events etc!

I would love to super charge one but again its the money, maybe in a few years I will, Cosworth inlet is something that I will be doing just keeping an eye out for a bargin on ebay and a few forums.

  Megane 265 Cup
Lovely car mate, I had one previous to my 182 and couldn't fault it at all, it never went wrong once in my 2 years ownership. They are indeed very easy to get power out of because they are quite restricted as standard, mine had the upgraded flexi pipe put in and an induction kit and the difference was obvious even from that alone, from what I read at the time of owning mine, they were restricted quite a bit as standard to keep the insurance down so younger drivers could buy and insure them.

Good luck with it, great wee car.

No it hasn't. You can lower the chairs though.

When you say lower the chairs Roy, do you mean by removing spaces from under the runners etc or by using the height adjust?

Just I have it set to the lowest position in the ST and they are still high, would be good to know if you can lower the rails :s

Yeah lift the runners up mate and take the spacers out, common mod.

Chers Gally, Will give that ago. Was a little unsure as I had heard of people doing it on other models.

Going to be doing my silver fog surrounds black tonight. will post up some pics when they are done :D

Just undecided wether to get the wheels done black or gun metal :s

Gun metal is nice.

The best mod I think is to spray the grey exterior plastics like satin black.

The lower front bumper part and rear bumper valance are really easy to take off.

I have thought about it and I have the paint to do it just need to find time to take them off and paint them. Might try it on the whole fog surrounds and see how easy the plastic is to paint, then challenge the grills.

Looks lovely mate. Really like this shape of Fiesta, my old mate used to have one and it felt awesome, awesome sense of speed and a nice noise too. Hope you enjoy it :)

I don't know anything about spacers. Maybe that's a Focus ST mod, and maybe it can also be done to the RS. The RS subframes have two sets of holes for the chairs. OEM, they are using the top set of holes. There is another set of holes lower down. I doubt the ST uses the same subframes though.

I had the Weitec coilovers on mine - such a worthwhile mod. Cannot recommend them enough.
I've got them for sale too if you're interested - drop me a PM!
