If you've been looking forward to the next instalment in the Splinter Cell series as much as we have you'll be glad to hear that the Xbox Live demo for Splinter Cell Conviction is now available to download.

The full game is due for release on 16th, April 2010.

Ubisoft tells us more:

You are a fugitive and you’re being ruthlessly hunted by the very government you once served. The key to your survival is to improvise, adapt and overcome.

Experience original game play based on improvisation where your environment becomes your weapon. You need to react to changing situations and use the environment and the crowds around you to create diversions and deter your enemies.

Splinter Cell Conviction will deliver an adrenaline rush of game play with blood-pumping chase sequences, close combat and intense gun battles. Same old money grabbing MS , just plugged in my ethernet cable to download this and my Gold Membership has run out. I dont play games on line , but would still like to be able to download demos. PS3 ( with Free internet ) all the way.

I think you can get it on silver but I think gold get it first, you have to wait a bit.

I got it just after you posted, quite a short demo, just finished it on realistic without getting shot at once. Pretty good. Favourite bit has got to be selecting people then pressing y to take them all out. Will defo pick up when it's out.

Yeah my mate has said it's very easy, but a decent enough indication of what to expect, especially as it's only 80% done. So a bit more to come before it's released next month.

Where did you hear 80%. would have thought it would be done by now if not more like 99%. They will ship to shops upto a week before release and send promo copies out to magazines a couple of weeks before.

It was on a gaming site. Don't think it was IGN, maybe Gamesradar or something. Can't remember, but they said the demo code was not the finished article, and actually some way off.

lol thats what I was thinking

Had a quick go last night. Stuck it straight on realistic :approve: Didn't get too far though as was going out, just got inside the building and started shooting everyone for the lol's

Will give it a bit more time tonight. Felt "quicker" than previous games if that makes sense? like the movement of the character/the way he climbs poles etc, not too sure I liked it, made it feel a bit more rushed than "sneaky sneaky" and I think the marking the enemy's then just pressing one button to take them all out has made it a little easy...

Never managed to do the whole demo without getting spotted on realistic but tbh it's not exactly hard to hide once spotted till things calm down a bit.

I have the exact same opinion of all past games but I thought the demo was great, I thought it felt much quicker than old ones. You should defo try the demo out.
