£8k budget on a Black 182 with Cup Packs, possible?

Clio 182 FF + Cup Packs
Hi,

I`m trying to hunt down a mint Black 182 with cup packs around the 30k mileage mark and no marks on the alloys or body work..... possible?

I have seen a few and most have marks on the wheels, which honestly i dont want the hassle of getting refurbed!

Do you think my budget is too low?

I don't think your budget is too low, but no marks on the alloys?? Surely its just easier to buy a car and have the wheels refurb'ed??

No way (IMO) you'll find one without alloy marks, the tyres offer no protection and no matter how hard i tried after 20000 miles I caught the back wheel on a car park kerb. As Dan says just get them refurbed.

Budget is very reasonable, but far more choice if your willing to choose a nicer colour.

My 182 wheels on mine don't have a single mark on them after 15k on my car. :)

My x GF is selling my old black 182.
I have posted some pictures of it on here.

I can find out the price if you so wish.

Willing to have a better colour... my preference at the moment is....

1. Black
2. Artic Blue
3. Silver

Think they all look great with cup wheels, but the black just grabs it! What colour do you have DrRollo?

blacks best! timeless.

silver is a colour for those that have given up on life.

blues ok,

Artic Blue = Common
Silver = Too common
Black = Swine to keep clean

Go for Inferno. Liquid Yellow or Racing Blue :)

I agree on the Inferno think thats quite cool. Not sure about the other two, think they stand out a bit too much! I like the subtlety of the 182 and being an undercover power house rather than stand out and everyone know I have some serious power under the bonnet. What you think?

I'm not sure on that one. What i didnt say, however, is that it is a cup and is just on 40k miles so thats probably the reason for the lower price. But i love it, had a few small problems that are all sorted now and the bodywork is in fantastic condition.

O and i got it from Chippenham about half an hour away from me (Bristol).

youll get a good one privately for 8k.

i know recently that a silver 182 went for close to your budget on a 55 plate!!

it was mint.

As above, you can afford to be picky with an £8k budget there should be loads out there for around that money.

Hmmm... am I missing a trick?... I`m using Autotrader, Cliosport forums and general google searches to look for 182's, are there any other popular places where sellers post up?

Clio 182 FF + Cup Packs
oh yeah the first black one has a scuff on the body work at middle back (bumper) otherwise i would go for it!

Im down Guidlford sides! so Scotland is a bit far i think! thanks for the links though Cat

Considering my mate bought a 182 privately for £6800 or something like that (black with cup packs, condition is good as far as I know). £8k is quite high for a normal 182 these days.

Really! maybe i`ll lower my budget and save it for some new tyres (just in case!).

Guess its just a waiting a game then! Xmas normally a slow period of 182 sales i guess?

Typical clio sport responce. For a mint, late, unmarked FSH 182 with 30k, you are looking around 8k easy. Also depands on reg ie 55 plate will have warrently, 53/04 plates wont, so that will affect price. I live in the real world. Most peeps on here want something for nothing.

If you want it because its a cheap quick car, get a 172 ph1. If it's because you want the toys, then get a later 172ph2 with all the gadgets. But if you really want the 182 with cup packs you may get one for around 8k.

If mine were standard I would rather keep it than sell for less than 8k.

You will!

My alloys are unmarked, and actually the tyres DO offer some protection. The 172 was a nightmare, the rims actually stuck out further than the tyre; it's the opposite on the 182.

8k should get you a decent 182, no problem.

Its a buyers market at the moment I got my Arctic Blue 182 for 6800 with 26k miles. My friend got a Gold Black 182 with 34k miles for 7200. All privately. I went and saw a 05 artic blue 182 at a traders and that was up for 8k.

So if anything I would say your budget will cover what you want and more. IMO I wouldnt pay more than 7.5k for any 182 unless its LY or a Trophy.

I have a 2004 black 182 (cup suspension and wheels) with 2 wheels with light kerbing and no other marks, on 47k full service history, recent full service and new tyres all in for £6600 so £8k will certainly get something around that mark.
