This uprated rear setup strengthens the wheel bearing/stub axle assembly utilising an EN24T stub axle and a strong but lightweight adapter bracket made from 7075-T651 aluminium. The intended results of this package is longer wheel bearing life with less likelihood of a bearing failure when you least want it and also reduces the likelihood of bent stub axles.

But it has been fun designing and manufacturing custom parts :smirk::blush:

Update time again!! The new rear stub axles and caliper brackets arrived today courtesy of @nath&alex.
The car was already stripped down ready to accept them so fitting took next to no time at all.

This is just the wheel resting on the studs!!

The cup is now on the floor for the first time in around 12 months. The new stub axles have also given a bit more track width on the rear end. View attachment 151906Tomorrow will see the cup seeing sunshine for the first time and getting a wash!
Might even polish it. Might!!

More to come.

Looks like a bloody lovely kit.

What discs are those?

Also, forgive my ignorance, but what is the main benefit of this kit? Considering the rear brakes don't do much anyway? Is it primarily for a bigger/stronger bearing upgrade?

Haha cheers! That wasn't there when I started writing my post, I got carried away doing other things lol
@ph-reebone beat me to it!! But just answer your other question they are Twingo discs

I was going to reply with something far more sarcastic, it took me a while to work out how to reply without being sarcastic (what an asshole), I was proper chuckling at how often it has been asked, and i am still kind of in this camp of "is it really worth it" but that doesn't matter, i respect Mark and yourselves nath&alex for developing something you believe in will make a difference, the time and effort going into it and quality output is lovely

Do you do these stub axels for ABS cars @nath&alex ? They look absolutely fantastic!
We. Have. The. Technology.

I've already got 1 idea for how it can be achieved, but it'll require some adaptation of the stub axle design we've got and also machining of the discs. It's also means machining up some new abs rings as well, so they're potentially very labour intesive to start off with. As @nath&alex has said though, everything's doable. Nothing is impossible.

Hope shes ok mate.

#dog lover 😧
Yeah she's ok now mate - on the mend at least.

nice build with good updates, great work
Thanks. Appreciate you taking the time to read it and look in.

Hope she is ok, dogs will always come before the car.
Yeah as above mate - on the mend now.

She suffers with glaucoma and unfortunately we lost her left eye to it a couple of years back. It was looking like her right eye was going down the same route, but thankfully it's not the case. Just an infection.

She's my best mate and where I am, she's usually not far behind!

Here she is after a hard afternoon watching me perform in the garage! Lol

Time for another little update. The dog is pretty much back to full health now, so I'm relaxed again!!

I got the call to say the superleggeras were done and ready for collection. I went to collect them yesterday evening, and to say I'm happy is an understatement!!
Today I managed to get the cup washed for the first time in around 18 months......flol! Proof that it has been polished in its life with me became very apparent when I dried it off. I'll be polishing it this week at some point.

Here's some pics of the superleggeras tried on for size. Front bumper is gonna need some therapy and it looks like the rear arches will need to be rolled - piece of piss jobs tbf.

Who wants Oz centre caps when you can have your own custom cup ones eh!!

More to come.

205/45/16?

Why 16s? didn't fancy running some different calipers?
Yes mate. They're the new r888r as well.

I've gone with 16's for a couple of reasons tbh - the ability to run the brembos and 295's wasn't actually a deciding factor either tbh! Lol! They're more of an afterthought!
The decision was made to go for 16's as I've got the Megane 5th gear ratio, so the theory is that the 16's will alter the gearing slightly for the long drives over to the Nurburgring. Also, I'm happy to be in a minority here, but I just can't stand 15's and balloon tyres! Lol!

I know the 16" track tyres are more expensive, but I'm not to fussed tbh.

Looks absolutely brilliant Mark. You need to get some proper pictures, bonnet open, all that jazz.

You also need to take me out for a spin in it when it's done!

Thanks mate, although I'll struggle to have some pics with the bonnet open - it's got no hinges and it's secured with 4 aerocatches! Lol!

It's looking awesome matey,
Can't wait to have a nosey.
Glad alls well with the dog:smile:
Cheers buddy! Yeah no problem. Providing it's not raining (and it's not gone away for mapping) I'll push it out on the drive for you to have a proper look in the daylight.
Yeah me too. She's back to being an irritating little bell end now, so I'd say she's 95% fixed. Lol
