What would you do Help!

Problem - My central locking and alarm is faulty. If I lock the car using the keyfob it simply unlocks itself and the alrm goes off. It did this 6 times throughout the night. The only way I can "lock" the car is with the key but obviously this leaves the boot open all the time.

Spoke to a couple of dealers and they all say that I will have to wait 1 week plus.

What would you do? I dont want to leave the car open for over a week and my insurance company wouldnt be happy if the car got nicked witha faulty alarm.

Phone up your insurance company and ask them.

or disconnect the boot lock while its locked, use RAID button to lock and remove plug from lock solenoid, remove cover on boot lid.

Cheers Tom, Unfortunately this has happened before and at the time my insurance company basically said that without the alarm it wasnt covered as the alarm was part of the conditions of cover!

Explained this to Renault and they didnt want to know. One dealer even said it would take 3 weeks to get a slot. I bet they wouldnt leave any cars on their forecourt unlocked overnight.

When you wanna get out of the car and lock it, open the drivers door then press the RAID button on the centre console. Shut the drivers door and lock it with the key. If you DONT have a drivers side lock, youll have to get out of the car and walk round to the passenger side, open the door and press the RAID button, then close the door and lock it. This will lock both doors and the boot.
