wtf has hapened to insurance

ok so got a renewal for the z4 and its gone up £700 despite having a years more no claims and driving experience.

confused.com is reading off the same sheet :S

so figured hey ill get a pajero n insure it for winter for less than the insurance on the zed then insure that again in spring, sell the paj n use that to pay it

but all quotes are coming back silly!! even tried my old clio that i sued to pay £400 for and its coming back at £700!!!??

so now im not sure what to do

I just had a quote for my Z4 too as its due next month as i am paying about £570 i think at the mo, cheapest i can get is £645 now, I should probably not moan then!

25, 4 Years NCB, greenlight. No claims or speeding etc.


It's always pure fluke, just spend hours going to EVERY insurance company and getting a quote from them, don't used confused etc, it's the only way to do it.


Every year i'm managed to get a quote about £500 cheaper than everywhere else.

i'm currently with esure and havent had the renewal quote through yet, cheapest i could see was on gocompare with one of the companies listed there. I expect the esure will come back this year higher.

I'm 31 with 0 points and 13 years NCB.

Just done a quote on mine according to compare the meerkat as a standard car, Its come down £450 on their site over last years of what they quoted me,

I dont have any doubts that flux will still manage to lower my premium again this year, the fact that its becomes half of where anywhere else quotes as soon as i mention my mods to mr Flux

edit: Isnt a Z4 going to be well up in the insurance database now talking group 45+ and its a convertable whereas before it was groups 1-20

Yeah,

They advised me to go elsewhere if it was standard which at one point it was when i changed halfway through the policy and it was more expensive, 3 months paying slightly more worked out cheaper because i earned another years no claims,

Come renewal i was asked if i was modding it to which i replied no, At that point i was told it would be cheaper, So i told her to bung some sportlines down on my policy and i'd order a set. Saved me nearly £600, another year on a few more mods have happened and they dont affect the premium.

If you dont want to mod it, Change the panel filter to a K&N panel filter and declare it

Type R went up from £360 to £560 at renewal time. Told them to get real and ended up insuring with Aviva for £350.

182 was something like £310 fully comp protected - both with Aviva.

BMW 320 Auto - 20, 2 years no claims, 3 driving. No accidents no points... Gone from 690 for the year fully comp to 1770. Thats the cheapest quote I can get... I dont understand quite frankly. Same postcode, same place to park it etc. 250% increase for getting older :/
