Swirls are relatively easy to wet sand out normally, just dont get too carried away and go through the laquer, lol

Has it done the usual trick of going white as well though? Thats a lot harder to sort.

most carbonfiber bonnets are just a clear gell coat finish so they do mark easy and look old and worn, try hand polishing it a little and if that doesnt improve then maybe look into taking it to a body shop and get them to put a few coats of clear coat on it, this will give you a better base to polish, also give them the ability to flat it before clearing and give you a flatter finish as most carbon parts have a sludgy peal to them

I wouldn't recommend anyone wet sand to remove swirls. that's not what it's really for, you'll be removing too much gel / clear coat and then need to refine and polish back just to get rid of the sanding marks. If you're not careful you'll strike through the gel / clear coat, just as Toby (an experienced detailer IMO) did wet sanding his own bonnet.

Get on the Detailing sub forum, loads of info and sticky's.

have a look at the GTechniqs P1 kit http://gtechniq.com/shop/3s-for-cars/kits/psystem-perfect-hand-polish-kit/
follow the links through to P1 and you'll find a video of it used by hand

Seriously, try Mr. Muscle or Pledge.

Haters will hate, but always brings the carbon on my Caterham up a treat and lasts a good month or so.
