What ET is standard 172 wheels?

Im looking to get a new set of wheels but am not sure what offset to go for,obviously i don't want to affect my handling so want it as close to the original alloys as possible. Can anyone shine some light on this?.......

Im considering buying ROTA RSPEC's 16x7 4x100 but it comes in et37 and et45.....??

Yea, iv had a look at some threads and links but just when you think you got it someone pops up and says NO thats the wrong answer so don't know which is right or wrong!! lol

I think it's et43 but I'm unsure as I've heard et37 too.

My 172 cup turinis are stamped 38.5 on the back of the wheel- I looked today

ET 48 it is then! Strange, I never thought the 172 ran them that high.

Oh and 172 cup is 38.5mm.

sweet, cheers guys! so with ROTA Rspecs t et45 it shouldn't make too much of a change yea? iv read a view threads about the strain on bolts etc???
