Based on the details in this thread - http://www.cliosport.net/threads/oil-advice-and-recommendations.67303/page-6

Hello
What oils can you recommend for a Clio 182 (purely track car, high lift cams, branched manifold, matched/ ported inlet manifold, bigger throttle body) and a 57 plate Volvo v70 t5 (standard)
Cheers

Opie's response -

Hi
I would use a good 5w-40 in the Clio.

Out of those, the best ones are the Fuchs/Silkolene Pro S, Millers CFS/CFS NT, Motul Sport/300V, Red Line and Gulf Competition.

For sprinting hillclimbing where the car is used for only a short periods I have always stuck to a decent 5W40. Gulf competition can usually be found around for good value I generally use that or Fuchs etc if it is on offer. When I had my engine stripped down after it died ( due to shoddy workmanship before hand :rage:) I was told how good the remains that were still intact were i.e. bearing faces etc and that was after years of road miles, track days , sprints.
