Another meggy thread on Cliosport but ohwell!
This weekend saw my R26 finally get to a stage that Im finally happy, ive still got a few things Im wanting to get done but by and large Ive complete my main aims for it!
I picked the car up from somebody of Meganesport after having a mare with the 225 F1 i purchased stepping in the R26 i knew i was right to stay with a meggy and had deffo made the right choice swapping from the R27
Day after i picked it up after a quick wash
i think i may just regret getting a black car in the long run but when clean they do look awesome!
1 week later she had my 17" clio track wheels put on whilst the 18's went off for powder coating.
Back came the 18's and of course i had them done black, boring eh but cant deny that stealth meggys look amazing! I had the old Tr1's taken off as they were practically dead so replaced them with Hankook Evo V12's.
As you can see the wing mirror are missing and the bullets which i had resprayed by one of my dads mates who does mobile paint touch up's etc
these were left to dry in my porch which did a great job of curing em pretty quick!
Next up my dad was roped in one friday to upgrade the brakes in view of a few track days coming up went for
Brembo solid discs all-round
Hel braided lines (which fred immediately told me were crap during a telephone convo! cheers! )
Motul RBF600 fluid
DS2500 upfront and new standard pads on the rear
Car now feels more plated under-braking and i couldnt get them to fade after a quick blast to bed them in so alot happier!
And today i finally got a chance to go for a nice blast out in the country, was the first time i could push with confidence after having new tyres and brakes,
Tyres were just awesome, brakes mint and the turbo whistle just magical, i thought i wouldn't love driving the R26 like i loved to drive the R27 but its just as fun, just as chuck-able and feels a lot more planted through the bends, overtaking is a lot easier the torque takes care of that, any gap and i was away and past with ease!
all in all I defiantly made the right choice swapping the R26 its certainly a step up from the clio IMO
some pics during the drive
Future plans:
De-swirl and proper correction
Stage 1 or 2 not sure just yet
Rear Tints
Possibly Track wheels
will update if any think changes which it probably will!
