RS Clio 172 Storm Grey Track toy

  Storm Grey Clio 172
Been a while for an update.

Got the braided lines fitted, new front and rear discs and new pads all round. Ds1.11 up front.

Got the cage powder coated and got it in, spreader plates and hi tensile bolts ready to nail it down.

Run in the pads one night and went to start it next day and the spade had popped of the starter motor so had me worried for awhile thinking the starter motor was dead but after checking it had a new one 3 months prior and cabling improved I knew it was something simple.

Fitted a OE size battery as the one fitted was huge.

Ordered some X low subframes ready for my club sports when there in stock and shipped.

Found out the car was missing the sub frame supports to after a visit to see Mark Black so found some from a guy breaking a Clio and I cleaned them up and some new fixings and they look great. Only ball ache was drilling the snapped threads out.

I sold the car exactly as I bought it (apart from the bodywork) before anyone thinks its mechanically bad because of me.

Just what I was looking for: what size/type are the bolts at the top end of the sub frame to chassis tie bar?? Looking to replace mine at the moment. Cars looking tidy!

So one of the pipes was missing from head light to air box so I decided to buy the fatty set up after finding it on here from a search.

I was going to buy the k etc set up but this has worked out so much cheaper

One eyelet screws into the original lower seatbelt holder and the other I've got a spreader plate that I will drill through the floor (both are different threads)

So corbeau club sports are getting closer so I've decided to order some sabelt harnesses and the eyelets and spreader plates ready for fitting.

And another little job I wanted doing is the rear trim cleaning up so I wrapped it gloss black and has cleaned it up really well.

Don't paint the wheels black. The car looked so much better when I changed from black to anthracite alloys. Hope you're not painting the 2118's!

I love black alloys and think it's gonna look great with them black I hope. Yes the 2118's.

Hope I made the right choice

Another update with some goodies...

Went with gloss black on the alloys and added some red Speedline course decals and they turned out great.

My club sports turned up and are ready to go on some x low subframe's. Need to get fitted some powerflex black series rear beam bushes and a 19mm roll bar from PMS, black series exhaust hanger mount and got some callipers to refurb with new piston and seals.

Few pics

Epic work mate, love this.

Out of interest did you get those spreader plates made up yourself? I've just bought an eBay cage and wanted to make my own out of thicker material and use better quality bolts and nuts.

Edit - Scratch that you're Glen from Facebook! haha

Ok ok ok

Delayed update as had issues with a few things and missed FCS due to not having time or weather permitting.

Anyway........

Cage in, seats in, harnesses in :)

Also fitted the rear carbon fibre washer blank and got the callipers ready for shot blasting. And fitted my black series exhaust mount and new pedals

Jealous of the rear beam bushes! Were they easy to push in?

Mark black did them and the bushes where shagged. Outer shell that sits in the beam was in there solid so he used a air hammer and took about 4 mins to get them out.

Just driving on road you can tell the stiffness has changed so much.
