radio display faulty (with pic)

anyone know what the problem is with this? Is it simply a bulb gone or more serious?
If just a bulb, how on earth do I get to it?
doesn't do it all the time, sometimes its fine, sometimes like this!!

me thinks the display may be faulty, dash top off if it needs changing, which is easily done in around 10-15mins. just a few torx bolts.

Yes its the display. If it was the bulbs it would just dim.

As its unlikely that the plug will have come loose, I'd say you'll probably have to replace it.
Good news is you can pick up a whole display on eBay for about £10!
Bad news is you have to try taking the dash off without Fubar's guide
