I fail to see how driving randomly constitutes wasting police time. They were following him to see if he misbehaved, which they could have done whether he drove home or to Japan.

He OP wasted his own time, but that's about it.

You can't drive direct to Japan iirc.

Might involve wasting the coastgaurds time as well.

Im about the same age as the OP i think and unfortunately i have a few mates that do the same kind of s**t, its all part of growing up i think!

I just turned 19, and tbh going to various car parks too meet friends due to the novelty of new freedom is a novelty and wore of within about 6 months. Would much prefer too sit inside with mates now. Not all young people are the same, and there is no point in deliberatly baiting police to pull you over, better to just keep out of trouble IMO
