MK2 PH1 1.2 owners need your help

i was driving my clio the other day and noticed that when i was going 70mph the rev's were at a different point to were they usual are which was quite odd. i want to know what sort of rev's are you doing at 80mph, as mine show up as 40 on the rev's when im doing 80mph.

wouldnt know, dont have a rev counter in my mk2 ph1! lol..

but at 80 the engine is about to drop it's arse, it doesnt sound too happy.

the missus' 16v is sitting at about 3.5k in 5th at 70 though.

i think its higher then it used to be because my clutch is almost gone

I think my old 8v used to do it at about 4.5k.

I can't remember now tbh.

4000 revs seems a bit low. Have you put different sized wheels on it?

4000 revs in my old one or about 4500

My old 1.2 16v used to do 80 and 4krpm.

My old 1.4 8v would cruise at 80 with the revs at about 3800-3900

In the 1.2 16v 80 is 4000rpm.

i have 15" ph2 alloys on it.

seems that its about right for it to be doing 4k revs at 80mph thought it seemed abit different from previous times

mine does 3500 in 5th doing seventy so around 4200 when your doing 80. if you have fitted new wheels or tyres that could have affected it. i think if it was you clutch slipping by 500rpm it would have f*cked up very quickly.
