Loved the first one, one of, if not the best game for the Xbox 360 IMO. Currently deciding whether to get this one for the Xbox or the PC. :S

This is going to be awesome. The first was definitely the best game I've played in a long time. Pre ordered.

I have heard that your save data from the 1st will transfer onto the second as regards your choices etc...

See, the review scores are great, but the few at the very bottom are the ones which put me off. Ok, I shouldn't read into the poor scores when there are so many good ones (as I bought Dead Space even though it had 3 or 4 poor reviews and was superb), but I think I missed the boat with this now, as I'd rather not play through 25 hours + when I could be playing ME2 when it's released this month, anyway, and apparently fixes the wrongs of the first.

Same with Assassin's Creed. I didn't buy that, and opted to go for AC2, and I loved it. F*ck the first one. Sequels usually FTW. Usually.

First game was probably my favourite ever gaming experience, and this looks better in every area.

With this and Bayonetta, we will have 2 possible games of the year and January isn't even over!

the1...you are right! It will ask you to load your last game save from the first game at the start, meaning your actions will rollover into the sequel.

The divergent story is meant to go into overdrive in the third game, for this one they need to keep it on rails to a degree to set the scene for the third one but then they say almost ever players ending will be unique in someway...

  Mito Sportiva 135
No but it will help, it's a great game and I think it would add to the experience, so you have an idea of the story. I think you also bring some of your armour / weapons over too.

one of my favorate games ever the first one is, one of the VERY few games i have completed, it actually held my concentration. and i think its the only game i have ever started replaying! cant actually wait for this second installment!

The biggest issue that Crysis had was the distance & damage model. It was quite easy to kill someone close up, but extend that range to around 100ft in game terms and you could easily go through a full clip, with each burst hitting the character as he clearly flinched.

At times the ammo shortage issue was a real pain through this problem alone. The only way I got through it was to select maximum speed on the suit - charge in - and deal with them at near point-blank range.

got a pre-owned copy of Mass Effect at the weekend from gamestation, matey put it through that disc cleaning/de-scratch thing first (which always makes me a bit dubious). Got home and low and behold it doesn't work....annoyed!

Why do they bother with the stupid disc cleaning thing, happened to me in the past when buying pre-owned games, it just never works, not once have I ever had a game work thats been through that thing!

Day off tomorrow though so taking it back, see if they have any new copies of the game..

The accuracy of Crysis hits was improved in Warhead. Although when fighting people wearing other nanosuits, it's still obviously a hard slog of headshots. Dazzle makes a good point about using the nanosuit. It's central to the Crysis experience and makes the game a lot more rewarding when used properly.

Anyway, back to Mass Effect. I guess I should play the original.

For shure...

I thought it was going to be a little fussy - a bit too complex for an FPS game, but it turned out to be epic. I'm suprised that more games haven't used something similar, tbh.

I really liked Warhead too - picked it up el cheapo from Tesco which to this day, I'm convinced they priced wrong. ;)

Mass Effect was a great game, Royston. Not as pretty or as fluid as Crysis - more of a Knights of the Old Republic type game than a frentic shooter like Crysis. Really looking forward to the follow-up. :approve:

got the disc changed and started playing (ME not ME2)....think I'm gonna like this...not got far, freed some bird and a crazy doctor from some little hut, doc was annying me and had the option to "shut him up", went for it, smacked him one lol

the woman wasn't too pleased but i said "it was for the best" and then she was ok with it lol

didn't realise it had the whole good/bad routes/choices etc. Weapon selection/upgrades and amour seems to be a bit confusing for me at the moment for some reason. Sure I'll work it all out eventually...

I honestly couldn't get involved in a game like Mass Effect now, with Mass Effect 2 on the way. I'd never be off it and want to finish it before, and I'm far too impatient to wait before playing a better sequel. Add to that I have so many other games I need to finish or at least get involved in.

  1.8 Civic EX
had to be done tbh, figured seeing as I've never played the first I've not got much of an urge to rush out for the second, but the second does look good from what I've seen. This way I get to play the first and get an idea of whats going on and then when i get round to buying the second it should be about £10 pre-owned :)

+ I'm betting bored of MW2 online now

  UR R26R.5, VW Golf R
Yeah, fair point. I'd probably do the same if I hadn't got a PS3 for Christmas. As such, I've had Uncharted 2 and now MGS4 to contend with.

So many games I'd like to play on the 360, though. Bayonetta, Borderlands, Mass Effect, Saints Row 2... I still want to finish Dead Space but the disc is f*cked. That was a great game.

  Mk2 Golf GTI
Story on the first is absolutely EPIC. If you haven't played it, it really is worth going through it first before starting the 2nd. In fact i'd say you're missing out on one of the greatest games ever if you dont!

And as said, you carry save data over so choices from the 1st game will affect the 2nd.

Only RPG i preferred more was Final Fantasy 7, and that's saying something.

  Mito Sportiva 135
Yeh first is amazing, and as it's part of a trilogy the second will be a lot better if you have done the first, as the story will reflect your decisions and you will have some weapon / armour / character rollover.

  Mk1 MX-5 next summer
Gutted about being stuff left over.

I had some epic s**t at the end of the last one. Played it on a mates xbox in first year. Daaaaaym

  Mito Sportiva 135
Can't you get it copied onto a memory device then import to your xbox? I reckon you can do the game "properly" in 40 hours if you have done it before, maybe have another crack!

I hope I get to keep my Colossus armour!

  Mk1 MX-5 next summer
Not seen the lad in a year, lived with him in halls so I doubt he has it.

When's it out, may get it but seems silly just for the sake of weapons etc... Although I'd love to tbf.

Can't wait anyway.

  1.8 Civic EX
so far soo good. I'm going to get sooo lost in this game lol, I can see it happening.

Just got to the Citadel and wondering around chatting to everyone I can. I've opened up a shed load of sub missions already, this is going to take some doing!

It's all making a bit more sense now too as regards all the upgrades, allocating weapons/armour etc...

One question, does it matter if a member of your team dies? lol I restart the mission a couple of times cos the twonk kept getting himself killed and I wanted to keep everyone alive.

  Mito Sportiva 135
Yeh after you get out the Citadel, is when it all starts happening. Your in the slow part of the game...

One tip - I would sell ammo types once you start getting a few of the same, otherwise by the end you have MILLIONS! Best to run an efficient ship early on.

I don't think your team mates properly die do they? I can't remember it happening to me anyway (at least until near the end...without spoiling it too much!)

  1.8 Civic EX
yeah I've sold loads of crap already. Wasted some money on the casino type machine jobs too lol

well his little red life bar went down to nothing and he was laying on the floor not really doing much so I guess he was dead lol

  Mito Sportiva 135
Hmm I swear people never properly died, can't you go up to them and resurrect them or something?

For the new one having issues deciding what type I will play through as, they all seem so cool. I guess not the soldier though as that makes it more like a traditional shooter and the other types seem to add a bit more battle tactics. The Enginner class where you can take over enemy robots and control a battle orb (thing?!) looks class to.

Soon...

looks like I might be able to but it's a skill I've not learnt yet. Out in the wide universe now. Just landing on random planet and driving around in the buggy thing. I'm a side missin ***** so the main quest is well and truely on hold now.

Wondering if the class you chose in the first one is the one your stuck with for the second as it uses your saved data from the first?!?
