I thought i did alright, very different to my usual motorsport, very unpredictable.

Just looked through these on Flickr, very good mate, I really like them.

Sport is hard to capture, especially when you have no control of your subjects!

What lens & settings did you go for in the end?

Used my 70-300mm sigma.

100iso - Sunny FTW
then i was messing with shutter from 250 - 2000
Then Fstop to match.

Found slow shutter was only useful on things like free hits where little running was involved.

Just wish it had been her student team id have been watching ;)
 
looks like they are all OOF or shutter speed not fast enough to capture the action.


try and isolate the subject more and not get anyone else in the background as it detracts from the subject. also watch for the way the sun is, you really want the shadow behind the subject
