Just reread yesterdays post, that should have said:

Something I seem to have inherited from my father (oh no!), slight divergence of thought process and what is actually said turns a genuine friendly comment into something that makes me sound like a to55er.
I have the upmost respect for you younger guys who manage to run nice cars. When I was 17/18 I had a 2 tone Vauxhall Chevette - the bottom half had been resprayed when it had new sills fitted. Argh, those were the days, when brake pads lasted longer than the body work !
